I had a little time to myself tonight, so I decided to grab some mirror time and try applying my face and see how long it takes me.  I started the stopwatch on my phone and got to work.  Well, I got lucky tonight and EVERYTHING went my way (except for a stubborn false eyelash that wouldn't cooperate).  When I was all done and the wig was pulled down to reveal Danni, I looked at the stopwatch.  1 hour and 10 minutes.  Not sure if that is a PR for me, but it's darn good.  It was so fast that I had a good amount of time to throw on a few dresses and take my look a little further before my wife got home.  What an amazing feeling...just can't believe how such a simple thing can make me smile inside and out.  Thanks for entertaining my self-centered post. May we all experience "perfect" makeup days more often than not!

XOXO

Danni

@dannydior301 How absolutely lovely for you Danni. I'm not jealous of you at all. Really I'm not 😂. Although I did have a full professional makeover today. Exquisite!

Hugs, Chrissie xx.

@dannydior301 Well Danni, it was wonderful of course. I mean I have no other opportunities, unlike you. Assuming the pics come out ok I'll be thrilled to share them in a couple of weeks xx.

@dannydior301 Hey Danni, the post is not self centred at all.  We all take such joy in dressing and putting on make up….its so nice to share each others moments of success and happiness.  So well done you.  Hope you have many more days of putting on the make up and dressing and even more staying happy.  Hugs Christine

Brag on Danni!  You're in good company here.  I only tried makeup a handful of times over the past 20 years.  When I started going out I was fortunate to have some semi-professional help from my oldest daughter.  I've weened myself off her help and now can do everything on my own in about an hour to an hour and 15 min.

@dannydior301 Nice Danni!

I’m new to makeup, and when I last tried, I thought, oh man, it’s taken me 90 minutes, I must really suck.

Well, okay, I probably do right now. But your post gives me some hope & an excuse not to be so hard on myself. Thank you!

@shannonhyde yes, you are doing great. If you’re like me, you will get better and better. I just found that I would be happy for awhile and then I would say, “let’s ramp it up, we can do better!” It’s fun to challenge yourself. Lots of good techniques out there on YouTube. Those guys and girls are doing amazing things with makeup. Keep up the good work!

XO

@dannydior301 hi Danni! I takes me about an hour and fifteen for the make up….but usually another hour to soak in the tub first!!!!🤣😘

Hi Danni.

Nothing as cool as when all the elements of make up fall perfectly into place!

Go ahead and brag! It's a special moment. Enjoy!

Judy.

I consider it a challenge both to yourself and others here to step up their makup game. I, like Christine, default to the pros. If I want proper makeup I schedule an appointment and have somebody far more competent than me do the makeup.

@jjandme I just have to figure out how to hide the damn wrinkles. In my heart I’m still 20!

I devoured all the How-To videos on YouTube. The most helpful for me was the basics of skincare. I found it best for my complexion NOT to over cleanse and use exfoliants sparingly. As we get older there is less skin to work with, and it takes time to restore collagen. I rarely go out with full foundation makeup anymore. However, I have found a vibrant lip and slightly smokey eye goes a long way. Also, I never use false eyelashes; they are too much trouble. Long story short; 30 minutes in a public 'ladies' restroom.

I wouldn't consider it bragging unless it had some kind of pompous nature or an "in your face" or "I'm better than you" vibe. Non of which is present in your post. If you won't talk up your accomplishments, who will? You are just sharing and that is wonderful. If you are happy with it, I am happy for you!

@augustvaliant thanks. It used to  take the planets aligning in order to have everything work out right. My wife has recently admitted that she thinks I do my makeup better than she does hers!
