Choosing to talk with your friend is a great start and if you were able to go out of the area or buy online would be ywo options but where you want to shop in person, checking with your friend beforehand and doing a "ladies' day" of shopping, that sounds promising!!

Welcome to CDH, it's really nice to hear from you! I myself want nothing more than exactly what your talking about! Having a woman take me shopping would be a Dream come true!

Well that dream came to for me in a totally different way! Rather than risking alot by talking with friends and revealing "my little secret", what I did was I went to an Upscale Resale boqutie dressed as me, Mark, and flat out told the gals that I was shopping for myself. They could not have been more accepting or wonderful! I must admit that I was nervous and full of fear but I just needed some help and womanly advice and I just couldn't hold my tongue any longer!

It turned out to be the Best thing I, ( Mark) Michelle Ever did! Not only were they kind, understanding and helpful, they have turned into some of the Best friends I could ever imagined! So much so the owner of the shop even offered me a part-time job!

Give it a try, I think you'll be surprised how understanding and compassionate some people can be! Plus you will have Fun and you'll have Real women giving you advice and suggestions! Not to mention a Real woman's option on what fits, what looks good, questionable and what just doesn't work!

Good luck! Give it a try, what do you have to lose? They are total strangers! Who knows, you might meet your New best friend! Either way you'll have Fun!

Allison, if it feels right than do it.  From what other girls have mentioned it's a wonderful feeling to have someone to confide with, to have a close friend and experience such things as going out shopping,   being together and enjoying being girls out and about.  I'm sure she will totally  be understanding so yes do it. I personally don't have anyone but oh" how I wish and having a opportunity like you I certainly wouldn't miss out. The best to you  on your decision,

I've wondered about this myself. I have a supportive wife but I don't think I could ever tell any of my friends. I have thought about just trying to meet a new friend while dressed--maybe that is an idea for you?

Thanks for the reply! It turns out my friend is very supportive and she's taking me for an all inclusive girl's night out and slumber party! I do like your idea of meeting friends while I'm dressed as Allison though! Where would you suggest I do it? A gay bar, pride parade, or male strip club? That's all I can of where I could find supportive people, which is kind of an issue for me as I live in the buckle of the bible belt.

Glad you went for it-understand that you are in good shape as far as your location-don't know where in Carolina you are but I know Atlanta and Charlotte are both CD/trans heavy Greenville also. Seems east coast and west coast are good- it's the middle that's slow.
