Hello, ladies. I am Heather and live in coastal South Carolina. I'm 77 years old and, believe it or not, will celebrate only 3 years of crossdressing the middle of this June. It all started with (get ready for a short story) me complaining to my wife of (now) 40 years about something I don't recall. He repy to me was "Just put your big girl panties on and deal with it. You know, they make some cute ones." I was immediately returned to my early teen years when I would take the opportunity of being home alone to try on my mother's bras and girdles. This didn't happen often; but, I always enjoyed it.
Recalling those days, I had no choice but to go out and buy my first 2 pairs of panties. I love wearing them; but, knew I wanted something different. It took me about 2 months to settle on the style and brand I prefer the most. They are a hipster style of lace panties. It took me until late November to tell my wife I had been wearing panties. Like most wives, she simply didn't understand. Neither do i. I just know I enjoy wearing them and have been wearing them 24/7 ever since. All my male underwear has long ago been discarded. I gradually started adding nylons, fishnets, nighties, dresses, bras, breast forms, wigs, press-on nails, and makeup to my closet.
My wife prefers not to see me with makeup and a wig, although I believe that has been the case on 2 occasions. Since January 1, 2022, I have worn thigh highs, bra, forms, panties, and a nightie to bed every night. I have been out in public fully dresses on about 8 or 9 occasions. The one boundary we have set is when I go out dressed, it will be where no family or friends will see me. I do underdress every day if nothing more than lace panties. I almost always wear thigh highs if I have long slacks on. I also quite often wear a lace bralette with A cup silicone inserts. I also will have a pair of triangle DD cup forms in them while driving. I do remove them when going into a retail store unless it's cool enough to wear a jacket. When I wear a bra, I use teardrop DD forms which are simply bigger than the triangle forms. About 50% of evenings, I wear a pair of EE/F forms to bed. Yes, I've always enjoyed big boobs - particularly my wife's 40DD boobs.
Knowing how embarrassed my wife would be if family and friends found out about my crossdressing, I don't plan on that ever happening. We have no family closer than 900 miles to us and when I go out dressed, it is well away from our home area.
I am a Vietnam Veteran (U.S. Navy brown water) on 100% disability due to health issues caused by Agent Orange exposure. I enjoy golf and I get frustrated by golf. I used to play 5 - 7 rounds per week from April thru October (northern climate). Over the past 7 years that frequency has declined to about twice a month. Therein lies my frustration.
I'm on one other crossdresser forum which I enjoy and hope to enjoy my time here, as well.

Nice to meet you Heather. I’m another 70+ crossdresser and Navy veteran who spent some time in the Mekong Delta in 1970. I’ve been fascinated by women’s lingerie since an early age and now dress almost every night in bras, panties, and nighties. I underdress often and the thrill of the act is always there. My wife of over 40 years does not know and would not understand but we use separate bedrooms because of my alleged snoring. Because my grown daughters both live nearby I do not dress beyond the bedroom. But that’s enough for me. Hope you enjoy CDH as much as I do. Welcome!

Hello Heather. An ex Royal Navy expat living one state up from you, also in my mid 70s. I was/am a closeted crossdresser for the last 21 years but dress almost full time since my wife passed almost 7 years ago. When I go out for my groceries, I will look like the guy I am "supposed" to be but all my clothes are femme.

I too am a 70+ crossdresser, and like you have only been back actively dressing for about six years. My reasons for a fifty-year absence goes back to the events taking place in the late 1960's. Like you, I am a veteran who spend a fair share of time in SE Asia (I guess who didn't at our age, though I am discovering we are a distinct minority these days)! I am so sorry to hear you are suffering the effects of Agent Orange. So many of my buddies have died from it, including my best friend. I gave the eulogy at his funeral and I said "Dave was killed in Vietnam, it just took forty-five years for him to realize it". (A very sad time). On a more cheerful note, I am having so much fun being Paulette these days. A little group I belong to has stated making 'pilgrimages' to Las Vegas where we get makeovers and just have fun. I must share, my very first experience wearing panties...I must have been 4 or 5, and I "owe" it all to my immigrant mother and two older sisters...little did they know, they deserve all the credit for getting me started. I remember I had developed a red rash...at the based of my "tiny" penis (that's where MY name comes from...tiny then...still the same...hahaha...!!!), and my mother, being a young 20-something immigrant mother of 3, thought, a pair of my sisters white, nylon "granny" panties, at the least, would relieve some of the discomfort....DAMN, immigrant Mom's are so smart....as they're still "relieving" the discomfort, going on over 60+ years...!!! I don't doubt many of us here, got our start with panties...!!! Carry on and enjoy, Heather...it's NEVER too late...and this is probably the best place to grow and learn together about crossdressing with us all...it's an evolution, learned one day at a time...!!!

I'm also a veteran (Army 1997-2001), and I have a Vietnam era friend who is going through treatment for agent orange too. I wish you the best.
I like golf but have not been able to play as much. My favorite courses are the Blue course at the Air Force Academy and Sungnam golf course in Seoul (I was stationed in Yongsan for two years). Sadly, I will never get to play these courses again.

it all starts with one or two pairs of panties and then it take over like a frilly satiny monster lol. I just did a quick count of how many pairs I have, I quit counting at 50. I estimate I have between 75 and 100 pairs, what can I say it’s an addiction.

Great to hear someone my age just coming out! My history is not too dissimilar to yours in early teens, but I started found my femme side after my wife left me (for the first time) at age 60. She returned a year later, at which point I explained I had found another woman (me) who wasn't likely to leave me. She was never as tolerant as yours, but seemingly accepting within limits until she wasn't, a year later. I now have an accepting lady, but even she would not allow a bra in the bedroom. She DID relent to the point of setting out a nightie for me every night, though, tolerates my dressing around the house most days, and will join me on events like crossdresser cruises where couples like us can engage with others so inclined.
I live in NC and we travel through the low country (Savannah or Charleston) en route to Florida sometimes... maybe can meet on those occasions if you like.
