Actually, I did dress up completely and actually go out on the town to a local gay bar where such dress is acceptable. But that was decades ago when I was about 25.  Now I am 68 and have decided it is decades past to let Marsha out of the box. I have 3 days off each week from work.  Mon-Wed.  I will have to dress up in the privacy of my bedroom/bathroom. Perhaps I will attempt makeup too but I have purchased a complete outfit from wig to shoes and will at least try those things on. Really looking forward to it!

I was about to say, enjoy, but that would be like telling my cat to be a cat

Imagine if I actually did that. And my name was Schrodinger!

Note: I refuse to accept responsibility for any existential damage caused by trying to imagine that.

@marsha68 How fun!! Go all out and enjoy!! The only way you'll get better at makeup is if you practice!  Stefanie has been watching a lot of YouTube videos and I've helped as well.

@marsha68 I had to learn that makeup is NOT a "magic wand". I started out with just lipstick and a wig. That, coupled with your clothes, will have most people seeing what they expect to see, then cast their gaze elsewhere and not give you any further scrutiny. I've graduated to doing my eyes as well for most casual outings, such as brunch with my fitness class girlfriends. I reserve foundation and concealer, etc., for "formal" occasions, like CD organization gatherings... and, as one participant at one of those recently observed, I have facial features that will let me do that; I realize that puts me in a small minority... It's going to be a process of going out, smiling and exuding confidence, doing as much as your nerves will stand, then returning to "base", assessing, and adjusting for next time. LOL I have a similar timeline; I dressed, got a makeover, and attended a CD group ONCE 40 years ago. Had a good time, but it took the planets another 40 years to align 🤣 Be brave, and good luck! 😍

@kendra2024 Totally agree. I'm not concerned with getting fancy. I know a guy at a Munch who dresses modestly with no makeup. He looks great because he is lucky enough to have an androgynous face. Some are lucky. Laura Bush looks like a female version of her father. Lucky girl!

@marsha68 Make up takes a little practice but if I can figure it out, you should be able to work it out as well.

Indeed, makeup will be a learning curve for sure but I'm going to make it light hearted fun. I'll probably look like a circus clown for a while until I gain skills. ROFL

Hey Marsha,

Have fun but remember to practice safety while you’re out.

@coloradog1 I haven't done anything yet. My 1st step is just to put on my new outfit. Then watch tutorial videos on makeup. I have Mo-Tu-We off. Looking forward to experimenting. Thanks for asking.

Yes Marsha makeup is a bit scary at first but watching some You tube videos really helps give you the basics then the old Practice then Practice again well at least one more time he he ..  Also a studio that caters to us femme girls does not hurt  good luck girlfriend..

@chrisfp99 Well, today I dressed up all the way except for makeup and had a wonderful time. I'm out to my psychotherapist Glen who fully understands and supports me. I'm on my journey and finding this website is CD Heaven for sure.♥️

I'm still slowly learning and acquiring pieces... no full outfits yet. All of my pieces are sleepwear or underthings. Things for the future!

@ronp Journey's can take many directions. I recently purchased my full outfit from Amazon. They have a category for "Apparel for Crosser's," Their are Apparel website's for CD's including one on the header page of our website. Happy shopping!
