Hi all, I'm Karon, and as you'll see in my profile, I've been a closet cross dresser for 55 plus years, the urge to cross dress has never gone way, the feeling of calm and relaxation when ever I am has never changed, except when the wife was coming up the driveway after arriving home early.
My mom had me in her cast off jeans and slacks when I was her size, I protested, but she said, "No one will ever notice the zipper is on the other side." I protested, but secretly I was excited to wear them, and started building a borrowed clothesline collection of panties and lingerie which I'd wear to school under the slacks.
- However I have only come to be a full blown cross dresser since my kids moved out and now I try to go all out with full makeup wig, and jewelry.
I find I am at my most content when dressed as Karon.

I totally understand when you say that you feel calm and relaxed when dressed. If someone ever tried to forcibly separate me from my clothes I think I'd explode. The resulting blast would probably take out several of the neighbouring cottages.
You've just joined an exceptionally warm and supportive community. It's a great place to make friends, seek advice, chat or just sit back and enjoy everything that's going on.

@karonsarah Hi Karon, amen to everything you've said. I first wore lipstick when I was 7. I loved it. Secretly cross dressed on and off for 50 years. Now I'm in my 60s and live by myself, and as a woman all day, every day. Very content. Happy. Peaceful.

Thanks Dani, there are times when I rush home from work just to spend an hour in front of the makeup mirror, just to look good in something pretty, just to do the the dishes and the house work, LOL.

Many have expressed this sentiment at CDH. I thought it was just me, but now I'm in good company with these increased urges to dress femme. For some reason, I expected the desire to wane as I aged.

@lisadouglas Does it ever! I sometimes call myself Rampaging Rayna when I go on a tear buying stuff and getting dressed up in it.
@jenngirl76 Totally agree with you Jennifer. After taking a pretty long break through the 2000-2024 period the feelings are a lot more intense in my latest comeback. Which I am positive has everything to do with age and awareness of time.

Likewise, I have always had the urge to crossdress, ever since I was a teenager. I also recall in the past, many times the fear of getting caught cd.
I have been cd for over 45 years now. And, haven't stopped; the urge is still there.
I have a dual identity too: one half of me is a reserved, conservative male, the other half is the vibrant Sandie. Both coexist peacefully.
When I'm dressed 👗 as Sandie, I am more calm and serene than my male half. It's also a great stress buster!

I’ve heard actors interviewed say they love playing somebody else, totally different from their real selves. And many totally get into their roles for movies, etc. Becoming the person they’re playing. All us girls here are just doing our version of the same thing. We want to be the heroines for a change😊

@sandie9832t I'm not so sure I'm quite as much a study in opposites as you. Brother is very strong willed and independent minded, adventurous and nearly fearless.
So is Rayna. And lately she's been gaining the upper hand.
Hi Karon yes my wife knows l crossdress and is pleased with it. When in drab l can be a little uptight at times when things don't go the way l want, however when crossdressing l am much calmer and my wife loves that ❤️ Jane

I can relate to what you said about dressing making you feel calmer. At one point after I came out to my wife she asked me if dressing had a calming effect on me. I told her that it did as I do feel calmer and more mellow when Suzanne is present. Since then there have been times when I've been stressed and she's told me to invite Suzanne to visit. It doesn't happen often but when it does it is nice.

I have just stated CD in July. Late to the party, ad I am 65. Dixie is my opposite. Fun loving and carefree. My male side is serious and feel like I am always being held to somebody’s standard. When Dixie i am happy almost giddy.
