My wife and I are planning a trip to New Orleans. I love to dress as a woman in the privacy of my own home and my wife approves of it. I have never done this outside of my home and no one else knows about it. During our trip, I would like to spend a day dressed as a woman with my wife. I was hoping someone could recommend a shop that does makeovers, So I go in dressed as a man and come out dressed, shaped and looking like a woman.
Hi Desiree,
Welcome to CDH. There are several members from New Orleans. I’m sure one will reply with a suggestion.

Hi Desiree, welcome to CDH. We're a very friendly bunch, so make yourself at home.
It's wonderful that you have the support and approval of your wife. For any married crossdresser that is a huge bonus!
I'm afraid I can't offer any makeover suggestions, but there are bound to be some in your locality. There are a few ladies here who live in NH, so hopefully one will get in touch.
Failing a pro makeover, would your wife be happy to do it for you? It might be a fabulous way to share more of your experience. Either way, I hope it goes brilliantly for you! Let us know how you get on!
I am not sure exactly what you are looking for
You could go to a CD transformation studio. There you walk in and they provide all the clothing, forms, pads and wigs to dress in what ever style you wish, and then do a full makeup session. You walk in male and walk out en femme, and then reverse the process at the end of the evening.
It sounds like you already have all the femme wear you need, so may not need the full service, but such studios usual do just make up as well. The simpler option if you just need make up is to go to a make up artist and have it done. Obviously, the clothing change would have to be done before or after makeup. Sephora, MAC and Ultra are all friendly and are happy to do our makeup. My makeover at Sephora was $60.
If you are planning on going out for the evening dressed nicely as for a play or some such event, I would suggest scheduling an appoint a few hours prior to when you will be going out. Arrive in some casual en femme attire wearing your wig forms, etcetera. Ask for a more formal, evening look to your makeup and relax and enjoy the experience. When done, go back to your room and change into your outfit for the evening. Just be careful with your makeup and go out and enjoy yourself.
Thank you for the reply. We are both excited to travel to New Orleans. I do have some nice skirts and dresses but nothing to add the necessary curves.
I am looking for a couple of things... a good place to buy a wig and perhaps items to add the necessary curves. I would also like to have a cosmetic make over to enhace my en femme look and feal.
Thanks again to everyone that replied for the encouragement. It's a big help.
Find out if there is an Ulta or Sephora store there.
The extra pads you want/need are available online if you want to own your own, otherwise you need to find a crossdressing service. The Glamor Outique or Breatform stores are good sources of quality items. Amazon has a bunch but beware of quality.
Getting make-up done should be easy. If you are unsure, simply call some of the shops and ask if they do MTF makeup. I have yet to hear of a Sephora that doesn't, and they even have classes for MTF makeup, so it is part of the corporate mandate.
I have used Sephora twice with no issues.
Hi Desiree, I live just outside of NOLA, 20 mins from the French Quarter, and you'd think I'd be a wealth of information about where to go to get a full MtF transformation. But, I'm not.
However, a few years back I tried to find a CD makeover studio here in New Orleans for myself and found only one possibility, and one wig shop.

I don't know much about this service other than what their website says, and can't say anything about their reputation one way or another.
But there is a well-known wig shop in the Quarter called "Fifi Mahoney's", which I think is a reputable joint. They specialize mostly in costume wigs and Mardi Gras costuming. I don't know if they do makeovers, and I've never been there myself.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
OBTW, welcome to CDH!
