Gem welcome. The thoughts about venturing is certainly a goal many here hope to make. You'll hear stories all the time about gurls talking about their first outtings and the wonderful experiences of doing it. I'm happy to say this year became my first out and since been out a few more. Even attended a conference in march. 5 days being totally dressed and an experiences I'll never forget. All started here after joining Cdh. Talking to others and learning more of my feelings and teaching me , a closeted, nervous and very confusing soul to explore and begin building a confinance in express my true femininity I knew was buried deep inside me and now I'm slowly opening up to this wonderful world we have chosen. In time make lasting friendships and know we’re always here to share each other’s experiences in our love for dressing. Very nice meeting and love to chat anytime.

Welcome from me as well. I started dressing seriously less than a year ago, but with the encouragement from some others, have ventured out a few times, though in very controlled situations.
For me, a key thing was being introduced to a local CD social group that has twice monthly events. This gave me the boost I needed to venture into the world as Amy, for the first time. Scary, for sure, but the other girls were very supportive, and a few have become friends already.
So, if you could find a similar group in your area, that might help you take those "baby steps" into the world. A lot of what we need is simply confidence, but also we need to get the right look, and moves so that one can look right. That's tough, and it takes practice, but it also depends on where you are. What I mean, in some areas it doesn't matter that you might look like a guy in a dress, and you will still be accepted, but in other places you won't.
