I'm already out as a crossdresser, having worked several years in female mode doing office work for three non-profit organizations on a volunteer basis.  I was totally accepted as "one of the girls" and bonded with the women to the extent that they would urge me to do things with them in public to gain more confidence.

During that same period, my wife and I had a great time going to gay bars and support group functions, and I gave a number of talks to an Ally group at a nearby college.  I was using doctor-prescribed estradiol and an anti-androgen, and my body was developing nicely.  About six years ago, I had to be hospitalized with bilateral pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis - blood clots in my lungs and one leg.  I got over that, only to have it happen again two years ago.  The condition can easily be fatal, so it's not something you want to have recurring.  It turns out that the estrogen was causing the problem.  Now I'm on a blood thinner for life as a precaution.  It's no big deal.  I'm actually in excellent health for my age.

I backed away from crossdressing for a while, but the need is still there.  Now I need to decide how I want to spend whatever time I have left.  Joining a group such as this is a step toward bringing my feminine self back to the fore, and publishing my pictures is a way confirming that I'm proud to be seen as the "real" me.
