Hi,
I'm Elaine. I'm not out in public only my wife is aware but not very supportive and I don't want my family to know. I have been dressing for years in one way or another and have buit up quite a nice wardrobe that I enjoy.
I find it so nice to be my other self and only dress when I can become the whole me (Elaine), it's an all or nothing situation. I have like photography and some other geeky hobbies too.
I'm in wrong end of the egg timer now as years go but being Elaine at times make me feel so alive. Well that is me and I look forward to passing the time with other similar girls too.

There are many, many people on the site with a situation very similar to yours. My own circumstances are; single, free to dress whenever I want (yay!), trans, out to Mum and one sister but no-one else. I go out quite a bit in 50:50 mode (entirely women's clothes but so low-key I fly under everyone's radar) and have a full makeover and escorted shopping experience booked for late July. I'm REALLY looking forward to that!
Anyway, you've just joined a very warm and supportive community. I know that you'll love it here as much as I do 🙂

@ellyd22 So excited for you, I'd love to do that too 🙂 If I were to go to that particular one, I'd have to be careful though. A member of the car club I'm in, who I've met loads of times, lives just round the corner! Visiting him would make a brilliant cover ruse for my OH, but I'd have to stop at my place en route and swap to my other car. I'd be very interested to know how your experience goes, and to see the lovely piccies of course!

As a new sister and family member you are welcomed with open arms into our home as well as yours now also.. With so much to see and do here from reading the forums and posts from so many ladies here telling there stories about there journeys down the femme road they are on.. So girlfriend when you get comfortable with us please join in with a story or two about the life and times of Elaine as she travels down her own girly path in life .. Now as for making friends here there are so many ladies from all over the world to build long lasting friendships and best of all we are just a simple click away from you .. This is a very friendly and supportive place, and I’m sure you’ll be glad that you found us.
Many will be in a similar situation you yourself. My wife knows nothing of Lucy (as far as I know) and I’m pretty sure she would tolerate it at best.
There’s also a lot of us in the wrong end of the egg timer.
Every New Year I look again at my own egg timer and think “bugger me, that’s gone down a lot!”

@elaines hi Elaine, it's never too late kiddo ! I'm 56 and rapidly approaching 57 and having the best times of my life, I go out in public all the time. Have done for a long time. But seriously, going out the first time is undoubtedly daunting to say the least, but once you break that ice so to speak, it gets easier and easier and eventually becomes the norm, and believe me, much quicker than you would ever imagine.

Nice to see a new member from North West UK, my stomping ground. I too love going 100% but rarely get the chance, maybe a couple of times a year for a week or so but I'm in heaven when I do. My SO is fully supportive and helpful but Stephanie stays out of the public eye due to my male persona being somewhat well known and recognition would have a negative impact. I now work from home so get regular opportunities to semi transform so I cannot complain. My egg timer is rapidly emptying!!! I hope you enjoy CDH and feel comfortable and at home here.

I'm in the same situation, my wife doesn't accept it. She has been part of my life for many years and I thought that love would not stop her from accepting me. I made a mistake. I have few opportunities to be Carla, and when one of these opportunities fails I get in a bad mood. I think it will ultimately affect our relationship.

I'm a mature crossdresser I've been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister's lingerie on, I'm still in the closet to my wife and family, no one knows I'm a crossdresser apart from the girls on here,

I can tell you that I recall the first time I was completely dolled up, after years of thinking I'd just look like guy me (meaning terrible). I was 51 at the time and since the result was not as horrifying as I'd feared, I simply decided I wasn't letting anymore time run out. And I went to the Pride parade fully dolled 2 weeks later. I have zero regrets.
Now, I'll add to that that my GF of 9yrs is 100% supportive and goes out with Melodee happily. In addition, my daughter (18) who lives with us knows and is also on board. I don't have the compulsion to tell anyone else, but I do feel that is somehow magically tomorrow it were broadcast the world - well, I'd just deal with it.
Everyone has their own reasons, as long as you're reviewing yours from time to time to make sure they're still apt, then I'd say you're on the right path.
