I'm in Norfolk, in the UK. I joined the site just under a year ago, and that was the first time that I'd come out to anyone as well. It DOES feel good, doesn't it? I also remember feeling nervous and scared. I was pretty apprehensive about having signed up.
I needn't have worried. Within an hour the reactions I started to get from other girls here calmed all of my fears. I felt welcomed and accepted. It really is a wonderful place.
There's lots to explore here. Have fun doing that, and if you need help with anything, just shout.

Hi, Desiree, you're right, it does feel great to come out here! I joined five months ago and this is the only place that I've shared my "secret" apart from my wife.
I can't fully describe what it meant, and still does, to be part of this wonderful family of like-minded people. Everyone you meet here is really caring, understanding and supportive, we celebrate successes and are here for each other in difficult times in equal measure.
Know too, that this is a safe place to be who you want to be so feel free to share as much as you want to.

As you're finding out, the girls here are all lovely 🙂 This is such a warm supportive community, I also found it so beneficial to share my inner thoughts and feelings here, when only one other person knew anything of Fiona. I think you’ve probably worked out already that this is a very welcoming place, but let me add my welcome.
We really are as friendly as we seem.
It feels quite strange to do an intro when you’ve kept things to yourself for years, but you’ll probably find that being here is quite a life changing experience. It certainly has been for a lot of us.

Cat room? CAT room?? Is that something to do with Schrödinger? If I enter it will I not know whether I am dead or alive, unless another CDH member comes in to check I have done my makeup properly??
My own cats have got very excited about this new feature. They consider that the time I spend on CDH is time I'm not focused entirely on them, which has been a source of friction. Now that there is an area of the site specifically for cats, things should improve.
I'll try and find out more about what exactly is going to be in this new 'Cat Room' and how it's all going to work 🙂
My two would like there to be more in terms of cat toys, scratching posts and small rodents and less in terms of quantum uncertainty.
@ellyd22 Not to mention tasty food treats no doubt (small rodents notwithstanding), which I have always found to be a prime motivator in felines 🙂
I hope they're as cute as these ...

I'll pass on some of the cuddles (to the one that likes to be cuddled) and exchange the remainder for head rubs and tummy strokes (for the one that doesn't).
Your cats will will need to be trained in the finer points of cinversations.
I am reminded of a group of cows we saw in a field last year - about 20 of them, all stood in a wide circle facing each other. Very puzzling until we realised they were holding a cowference.
Twenty cows? Really? At first I thought that might be a load of bull.
