Hello everyone! My name is Paulina! I’m 30 years old and I’m from Long Island, NY.

I think I was around 12 years old when I first wanted to crossdress, but I ended up pushing that desire deep down until I was about 23, and for the last 7 years, I’ve been crossdressing on and off, but more on. For a short time when I started crossdressing, I considered that I might be transgender, but I’ve settled into being very happy with my identity as a crossdresser. I am Paul, but Paulina is always here for me.

I’m single, but I’m hoping I can find a partner who will embrace me for who I am.

I’m really into running (have been since I was 14 and started high school) and in the last few years I’ve become a triathlete. I’m not super experienced as a swimmer or biker but I’m getting there!

I like playing video games, especially Nintendo. I really enjoy keeping a journal to collect my thoughts, and I have a outline saved in my phone for rewriting the Star Wars Prequels (but I do love the prequels the way they are, I grew up on them).

Thanks for reading my intro! Hope you’re all having amazing weeks so far!

@misspaulina Hi Paulina

Welcome to CDH 🙂

I started crossdressing a little younger than you (age 6) but the realisation that I AM transgender didn't come until much later  ... in large part because for most of my life I didn't have access to the information I needed to work out what I was, and where I fitted on the gender spectrum. Like you though, once I'd got my identity sorted I became much happier.

Self-acceptance is a wonderful thing 🙂

Anyway - you just joined a very warm and supportive community. I hope that you love it here as much as I do.

Hugs

Ellie x

Hi Paulina,

Welcome to CDH.

The age you started is quite a common one, and most of us have had to suppress the urge at some point, and for differing lengths of time.

It’s great that you’ve discovered your identity, again that sometimes takes many years.

This is a very supportive place and we’re all really friendly and love a chat.

It’s also nice to have another triathlete on board! That side of me has been a little idle for a couple of years, but is slowly getting back on track. Slowly being the key word there 🙂

@lucyb112 Hello Lucy! Thank you for the warm welcome! When it come to triathlons, “slowly” describes me as well, but as a wise man once said, it’s nice to win, but it’s great to just finish!

@misspaulina Yes, finishing is my aim really.

I hope you enjoy CDH, and I’ll probably catch up with you to see how your season goes

@misspaulina Welcome Paulina of (New) York. LOL

Likewise, I too, am a relative 'newbie' but it seems as if I can barely see August 31, 2023 in my rearview mirror.

Here's a funny.  I was out and about no more than 2 days ago. I'm at an athletic facility. A close friend of mine introduced me to a friend of his. I began my usual chit chat with the 'Hello, my name is, very pleased to meet you, so where do you call home? ' He said,  "Massapequa". I said, 'Now, where the "F" is that?"  LOL. Paulina, within 48 hours, this Massachusetts girl has bumped into two people from 'Massapequa". LOL. I love coincidences or whatever a coincidence truly is.

Nevertheless, Welcome to CDH. Have fun navigating through the site. I guarantee you'll find many things interesting and stimulating. Now, GO TO IT GIRL!

Sincerely and With Love,

Thea

@misspaulina Welcome Paulina of (New) York. LOL

Massapequa

I just learned something. Thanks, Thea.

Massapequa is considered to be a census-designated place (CDP). Wikipedia doesn't give a range of population for a CDP, but Massapequa is also considered to be a hamlet with a population over 21,000. Apparently, we have CDPs in Canada, too, but I can't name one.

@theapat Oh wow, what a small world!! We’re everywhere lol!!

Fun fact: Massapequa has for years had both a very large Jewish population, and also a very large Italian population, and it was nicknamed Matzoh-Pizza.

Thank you for the warm welcome!! ❤️

@misspaulina Welcome to CDH, Paulina.

You came to a great site to express yourself. Please do.

I like the idea of taking a male name and adding a suffix to make it female. (I wonder how many CDH members did that.) The same can be done with my real name. The same was done with the German male name, Harold, to morph it into my French female name for my CD environment.

@harriette Thank you Harriette! What a beautiful name! I have some French ancestry, so there are a lot of -ette names in my family tree, Arlette, Georgette, and even including my mom Paulette. I wanted to hang on to Paul, but wanted a different name than my mom. But I will say that my mom is the most amazing person in my life!

@misspaulina I named myself after my mom, too. I am pretty sure that she wanted me to be a daughter. Instead she had 3 boys.

Hi Paulina, welcome to CDH.

This is a tremendous community, with bucketloads of experience to draw on. Feel free to ask questions, seek advice and generally pitch in!

A significant number of us feel the urge to crossdress around the ages of 12 to 14. It's an urge many of us repress, sometimes repeatedly and for varied reasons. It always always comes back, because it's a part of who we are.

Lovely profile pic!

Hi Paulina and welcome to the forums. I am sure you will find plenty to help you on your path and your story is much the same as many here, apart from being a budding Triathlete!

Happy that you have found yourself and hope it blossoms among friens here.
