I hope everyone is managing as best as they can this week. I was introduced to this site by a fellow genderqueer person on another site and decided to take the plunge to see if I would have any more luck finding local femmes that are interested in something more platonic. So hello!
My name is Ashe, I'm in my late 30's and have been crossdressing since I was about 11 or 12. My first crossdressing experience started when I was alone in a family friends house for a few hours and for reasons unbeknownst to me, I ended up trying on their daughters school uniform and underwear. It was such a wonderful feeling to slip those cotton panties on and feel them snug against my body. I was hooked. Though like many others I'm sure, I went through shame cycles over the next 20 years. I went through at least 3 purges until one day I was with my loving partner and after she playfully put her underwear on me I sheepishly admitted to being a life long crossdresser.
Her immediate and total acceptance of it came as a shock and ever since then she has been encouraging me to present myself as I see myself. But 20+ years in the closet is a hard mentality to break out of so it has been a slow exit from the closet for me but I've vowed to not backslide again.
Outside of dressing, I'm a big dweeb who loves board and war games, strategy and indie video games, being outside (mainly biking and hiking but occasionally I'll torture myself with a run), pretentious movies, and cooking.
I hope to meet some folks in my area and am looking to start going to more events as Ashe. Also open to those from far away if we have similar interests.

@ashelikestodress of all time thats a hard one i had lots of fun with hatry potter and the battle of hogwards card game. it was brutally hard but we won, although its really hard to enjoy it with all the stuff happening now. then there is tales of evil, i dont know if your familiar with it. its a board game with heavy d&d ellements. they also have fusion events that combine real life (for example, make a dog bark in 30 seconds of face a giant cat monster). if you havr not played that would recommend.
Lately we have been diving into the clank legacy board game and enjoying it a lot!

My all-time favorite game is 1960: The Making of a President. It's a game that simulated the 1960 election and it's just so well made and such a perfect combo of things I love.
Recently I've been loving Ark Nova, pretty popular right now but it's essentially a zoo building game with really tight mechanics and great design. It's on boardgamearena so I play at least one game a week with random people on the internet.

@crazycynthia Mostly new people each time but if you like the group you played with there's an easy button to propose a rematch at the end. Nice way to pass the time and try out new games and different strategies.
@ashelikestodress Hey Ashe, what a lovely intro. Thank you for sharing some of your story. Whilst there are any number of different journeys here yours sounds like the archetypal progression. I think you'll fit in here just fine girl. Somewhere there's a facility to find members near you if that's your thing. One of the girls will point you in the right direction. Meanwhile have a good look around and you'll soon see how friendly, supportive and compassionate the girls here are. It's lovely to have you with us.

Hi, Ashe, and welcome to our unique community. You will undoubtedly make friends here, and, certainly for me, platonic doesn't mean shallow or fleeting. I've made real, valued friends, some of whom I've now met in the "real" world and have become "chosen family". (Thanks to Liz K @lizk for introducing me to that term 😊).
You won't have to "put your foot down" here, we all do our bit to keep this place safe and genuinely family friendly. Like many of us who found CDH, I had been hiding my secret for a very long time before deciding to look for some kind of informative website/forum. The first few results were for some distinctly unsavoury places and I nearly jumped back in the closet and locked the door! However, I then found this amazing family, dithered for about three minutes before joining and then took the first step towards changing my life. No, seriously, from decades of feeling alone and that there was something wrong with me, I discovered the other half of who I am! Embracing Allie instead of denying and hiding her has meant that, at 69 years chronologically, I now feel whole, happier and more at peace then I ever have. This community changes lives 😊.
We are all at our own stage in the journey but we share a love of expressing our feminine sides and there's no better place than here to do so.
