I felt exactly the same when I registered back in July 2023. What was I letting myself in for?

I needn't have worried; the girls quickly put me at my ease and I've experienced nothing but love and support here from that moment forwards. I've made some amazing friends, and it's no exaggeration to say that being a member has changed my life for the better.

This really is a a wonderful community!

There's lots to explore. Have fun doing that, and if you need help with anything, just shout.

PS - other than a single profile photo, I didn't share any pictures until I'd been on the site for a year ... and I only started 'properly' going out en femme at the end of September. There's no hurry for any of this. Things happen when they happen 🙂

Welcome to CDH, the friendliest, most supportive crossdresser community anywhere. If your first post was hard to write, don't worry, all your others will be much easier!

No matter what stage in the journey you are currently at, there are others at the same stage, and, with the encouragement and support you'll receive from the girls here, you'll be amazed at how fast you progress.

I joined just over 9 months ago, after more than 50 years of hiding my secret and feeling alone. I'm still astounded how much my life has changed! Meeting others like me and making real friends has meant that I now embrace my feminine side (and discovered that she's the best influence ever!), and I've spent two days en femme, in public. Now I can't wait to do so again 😊.

As you read through the forums and profiles, you'll see how much we love this place and I'm sure you will too. Just shout if you need anything or have any questions and we'll do our best to help.

 Cynthia, nice that you found this place, and welcome! Most of us, if not all of us have been where you are now I know I was! I spent most of my life hiding from myself as well as from the world but now I've accepted myself and found a local social group to go out with!

 I was terrified to even join up here and backed out several times till I finally took the plunge and am so glad I did.

 It takes time to figure yourself out and confidence to actually go out into the world, and what's right right for me isn't always right for anyone else.

 Enjoy being here and sharing your femme side.

@crazycynthia Welcome to CDH. Makeup takes practice and experimentation and if you can find a makeup artist for makeovers or lessons, then that will help with confidence.

@crazycynthia Hey Cynthia. The first post takes a little courage so well done you girl. Rest assured we all love crossdressing here, so you've come to the right place. There's plenty of discussion about makeup, and that first step out, in the forums. Have a good look around and get a feel for this place. But I can promise you that you'll find nothing but support, friendship and sisterhood here. The girls are all so lovely and will give you a real sense of belonging if you engage with us. Maybe start by telling us a little more about yourself in your profile when you're ready. It's lovely to have you on board honey.

I'm by far not brave enough yet to share pictures or go to a club or something dressed but i would love to take that leap someday.

Most aspects of crossdressing may seem daunting at the beginning. You don't have years of dealing with crossdressing when really young, you are dealing with a basket full of emotions and fears, you are building a new wardrobe, and so on.

Going outside may appear to be pretty daunting, but you can mitigate the stress by slowly gaining experience and by experimenting with style.

For example, winter is just around the corner. When you wear heavier, bulkier warm clothes outside, you can hide whatever you have underneath your outer layers. You can wear women's pants over whatever undies or stockings that you have on underneath.

Under a coat, you can hide your top and bra with forms, if you have them. You don't have to open your coat all of the way, so you can gain experience without attracting attention and completely outting yourself.

All while you are doing this, you are crossdressing in public. 😉
