@quietman916 Connie, the very first thing is to dispel that fear. That won't help you at all honey. And you've just taken the very best step to achieve that. CDH is the best resource you will find, full of friendly and supportive girls who can help you on your journey. Take some time to look around the forums and articles and everything will quickly make sense. Dressing up is quite natural and should be celebrated not vilified. This is the best CD/TG support site on the internet.
A year and a bit ago I was in a similar position to you in that no-one at all knew about Ellie. Now, thanks to the encouragement and support that I've received on CDH:
- I'm out to my Mum, one of my sisters and my neighbour.
- I've had two professional makeovers.
- I spent last Saturday night clubbing with two other girls from the site.
- I'm gearing up to go to this Friday's 'Leeds First Friday' event as part of a small group of CDH girls.
None of this would have seemed remotely possible before last July. I've never been happier! This place really does change lives 🙂

@quietman916 Welcome Connie! You will soon discover ladies like us are joining CDH ever day. I too was 'in the closet' but this year I started thinking outside the box. "Crossdresser" just never seemed right. After all these years I then allowed myself to wonder, "Am I a transgender woman?" I let myself go with it, to try it on and see if it fits, read articles here, and posts, and more and more learned, yes, I am a trans woman. Much happier and at greater peace with myself now.

Chrissie @chrisfp99 puts it well, just spend some time here, read the forum posts and join in when you're ready. This was and is still, the only place and the only people, apart from my wife, that I've shared my secret with. That, in itself, lifted a weight that I've carried for more than 50 years, and the friends I've made soon dispelled those two imposters, fear and guilt and shame 🤔 those three imposters!
Here, you will have all the encouragement and support we can give and I'll echo what Ellie @ellyd22 has said, this community changes lives. Or rather, enables us to change our own, as much as we want.
Everyone is genuinely friendly and helpful so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, we'll do our best.
