It’s a joy to join you all!
I am Michelle - the name deriving from my cousin whose influence on my desire for femininity was profound: I did not have a big sister whose clothes I could experiment with but Chel used to put makeup on me and we’d play dress up. Back in the 70’s, I thought I was madly in love with her - she was pretty and fashionable and very girly ( she went on to study fashion & became a designer): it turned out that what I loved was her femininity - what I actually wanted was to be her!
At uni, I lived with a girl called Michelle - we were not a couple but I was obsessed with her: incredibly pretty; incredibly feminine; and she loved my worship! Years later, I realise that I’ve been heavily influenced by her in terms of my own appearance.
I am a 54 year old male - though I use makeup and wigs, I’m not particularly passable. As part of my AGP, I resort to a face editing software and am struck by how similar I can appear to my Uni-Michelle: this is a very thrilling thing!
My surname comes from the vocalist of a band from the early 90’s “The Sundays” - Harriet Wheeler. She had the voice that I should have and she wore her hair in the most gorgeous chignon - something that I love to do using Bobby pins, slides, barrette clips etc. With a heavy spray of perfume and a nibble on the back of the neck from my wife, I also allow myself to imagine I am Harriet too!

Welcome to CDH, the warmest, friendliest and most supportive crossdresser community you'll find. I'm sure that Fluff @finallyfiona, won't mind if I paraphrase her "force for good" comment and say, this community changes lives! In the past 11 months, I've gone from a shame and guilt-ridden secret crossdresser to the shining, mentally perfect example you see before you.
Well, I've made good friends, gone out in public en femme for the first time and now happily embrace both "me's". I'd say that qualifies as life-changing. As you read through the forums, you'll see my story is far from unique, CDH has helped so many of us, whether closeted or fully out there.
