I'm a mature crossdresser I've been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister's lingerie on I'm still in the closet to my family,

I do the same thing when I drive. I’m a courier so I drive a lot. More and more I am Lizzie in the car and I too walk around the rest stops in the afternoons. I figure if there’s no eye contact no one will say anything. Welcome. Maybe we chat sometime.

Hi Louise, and welcome.  First off allow me to say that "passing" is an overrated concern.  I challenge my friends here in the US to observe women going into and out of Walmart, a nationwide discount store chain, known for the "peculiar" dressing habits of its customers.  A significant portion of these women would not "pass" in the literal interpretation of the term.  The better answer is to "blend".  By that I mean, wearing appropriate clothing, not overdoing makeup, and wearing an age appropriate wig.  In addition, I have also noticed, even if anyone notices, they rarely say or do anything.  I think once you overcome your fear, going out in public can be a fun and rewarding experience. ♥️Paulette♥️

Hello Louise welcome to CDH I am glad you have shared a part of who you are. Having found us you have made the step to become part of a family that is welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and supportive. While we are all similar and have many of the same desires we all differ on our goals or level of public expression and or personal experiences. I encourage you to explore the many forums, topics, polls and member biographies found here as there are a wide range of members all over the spectrum of feminine expression from differing levels of crossdressing to those on the path to transition and those that have. There are also links to websites that have products and services that may help you on your own personal path of self acceptance and expression. Ultimately it is a place, home, or space were you can feel feel comfortable and confident in who you are that you are not alone and this is a place where you can feel safe to express and share part of yourself as being who you truly are as your authentic self of you being a man, a woman, a man who dresses as a woman a complete human being expressing your feminine desires feelings and or qualities. I am happy you are here and have made a choice to accept this part of yourself as self acceptance is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. You can’t expect others to accept you if you don’t accept yourself all of you. As you are sharing a part of your authentic self here on CDH it ultimately lifts some of the burden that you may be feeling which many of us have carried for what seems like a lifetime you are not alone. Being here helps not only yourself but helps others gain acceptance and confidence. I am happy you have made the step to be here. Welcome!

...in the few years I've been 'doing', I have learned a valuable lesson. Don't forget to head to the proverbial medicine cabinet and seek out the 'WTF' confidence pill. There comes a time when the constant fear, the lack of confidence, and the running away must cease. There comes a time when the sum of the aforementioned makes you not happy with yourself. The self created evil spirits begin to gang up and make their way to you.You envision that "first day in a new school", waiting for people to laugh at you and all the other bad things that will happen. You finally slap yourself in the head and say, "Now, Did that really ever happen?" Most times someone special sees you for who you are, smiles at you, and greets you respectfully. You begin the mantra of who you are and the countless things you have achieved. You hear a voice that says, "Come in gorgeous', or "I like your shoes', or 'Your nails are lovely'. There is a great amount of powerful positive energy out there and it emanates from the people standing right in front of us. The people we fear.
