So after months or actually probably years of denying to myself my exact feelings I have finally made the decision to find my true feminine side and let it out to others. Whilst this is just the first step and will for now be behind closed doors, if feels like a huge weight off my shoulders. I can’t wait to receive my new clothes and try them all on and actually start to feel like a woman. I fear makeup may be an issue and expect many disasters but hopefully in time I can master this and look on the outside how I feel inside. So for now that’s me and happy but would love to hear from others who are in this position

There’s a wealth of different experiences here that you will be able to learn from.
We all started somewhere, and for many of us, joining this site has made a massive difference to us, it certainly did for me.
And as for make up, well yes, it can take a while to master. I haven’t managed it myself yet, but it’s fun to learn!

@gemmacd70 welcome Gemma. Careful with the makeup pics. They tend to make the makeup look heavier than it really is. Start with less and go from there. Some lipsticks stain your lips so if you can’t get it off, brush your lips with toothpaste. Good luck.

takes practice. I use a Live Makeup App on my phone it really helped me learn. and you tube.. dont get discouraged and have a great time. Cheers RC

Yes makeup at the moment is my main concern, so all advise is welcome. Been on so many YouTube sites which have helped a little, but will see how things go this weekend as I plan to devote the time to me and trialing things. You mention a live app, which one do you use?

@gemmacd70 I use Youcam Makeup. in the app store or google play store. there is a free version that does most things. its fun to play with anytime someone cant see your phone screen. 😉 I added a cheap selfi ring from amazon and whola you have a photo studio that can do some pretty great things. I always Do my makeup then get the best pictures possible without the app. then use the app to help moral lol.. but nowadays Ive gotten good enough that I dont use it as much as im happier with the IRL image. but the App greatly helped me get there and was the best pick me up when I got discouraged. As for makeup, we'll... we all had to start somewhere. Making mistakes is part of the learning curve, but keep practicing and you'll find out what suits you. Have fun!

I'm really happy for you that you have found this place as a mere youngster (compared to me at least) because you have so much to look forward to here. I would love to hear how you get on with make-up. It is something I have not gone very far with yet (mainly corrector, concealer and lipstick so far) but would love to go a bit further - as others have said "it is a journey". So I am looking forward to your progress with eager anticipation. And lots of clothes arriving as well - you are going to have a ball this weekend! Have fun and enjoy it.

It's always lovely to greet a new UK girl, and as you're finding out, there are more of us here than you might think. I see you're in Essex, I spent my early childhood in Chelmsford although I've called Bucks, Herts and latterly Bedfordshire home since then, so not too far away from you. From your profile, it seems we're also quite close in our ages and also in being rather late starters in our CD lives.
I can only repeat what the girls have posted above, that this is such a warm, supportive and friendly sisterhood, we're all here for each other. Dive in, chat with us about anything, ask any and all questions - we all understand exactly where you're coming from and no-one will judge, not in the slightest. 🤗
I only wish I'd thought to look for this site a couple of years ago - being a member here since the start of the year has been absolutely transformative, in every sense of the word 🙂 Life-changing might actually be closer to the mark, and in such positive ways. @gemmacd70 Nothing's impossible! I would love a good excuse to revisit my old haunts again, it's been about 18 years since I was last there. The centre had changed beyond my recognition, but the estate in Springfield was much the same. Do PM me if you fancy that coffee one weekend 🙂
Good luck with the make-up honey, it's still very much a work in progress for me, too. Although I've just had my eyes opened to what's possible if I can ever skill-up enough, and I was amazed!

I'm a mature crossdresser I've been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister's lingerie on I'm still in the closet to my family,
I'm a UK girl too I'm up in Shropshire, I'm not too good putting on my makeup either, I've just about mastered putting on my lipstick as for anything else I've not had the time, anyway if it's help and advice you need the girls will be happy to help you anyway they can X

you have to be confident in yourself, it took me many years to reach, perhaps, a decent level in the way I do my makeup and dress ...
if you feel like a woman inside, you can be sure that sooner or later you will be able to get "Gemma" out of the closet and show yourself for who you really are to the world around you ...
Know that I am, more or less, in the same situation as you because I too am working to be able to bring out the real me
