I'm enjoying the salt life on the Sunshine Coast of Florida. I'm new to CDH, but not to CDing. I started as a teenager wearing my moms clothes since they were the only ones available. Now I'm married going out when I can which is usually 3 times a week for a few hours. I get away for days at a time when I can and become the girl I would love to be full time. I've had some fabulous experiences which I will always cherish and some that I'd rather forget but can't. Going through TSA last month was a trip!!!

I've been a long time member of another site that is not warm and welcoming like this seems to be. I look forward to getting to know many of you.

Hugs,

Mary

Welcome, Miss Mary.  This is definitely a great place to be and our sisters here are wonderful.  I'd be very interested to hear about your TSA adventures if you're comfortable sharing them.

Thanks Charmagne for your warm welcome! I'm always comfortable sharing my experiences but thanks for asking first. I actually have 3 TSA stories.

The most recent was at the Atlantic City airport which is small if you have never been there. I was flying in girl mode and wearing a long dress. This is not new for me and I got over being embarrassed years ago when approaching the officer who checks your photo ID against your boarding pass. No problem this time and I moved on to enter the machine where you must raise your arms over your head which I did. They have you wait a few seconds to allow the machine to do its read. My read showed something toward the bottom front part of my left leg and in the groin area. The female agent said she would have to do a pat down and explained what she was about to do. She said it could be done in a private room which I opted for. At this point I'm not sure if she knows I'm a CD or not and I don't care if she wants to do it or have a male officer do it. She proceeds with the pat down or whatever you wish to call it and turns to her fellow officer to say she can't give me clearance since she felt something. Of course I now know she thinks I'm a female with something other than the little fellow I carry around between my legs everywhere I go. At this point I figured there was only one way out and that is to announce I am a male. That shed some light on it but her female colleague had to search me since the first one had declared I couldn't be passed. They were visibly upset that they had to go through this ordeal, but I figured that was their problem. I didn't ask to be searched and I wasn't asked if I wanted a male to do the procedure. They are in control not me. The second one said she was satisfied and I could go.

Another experience if you can handle another TSA story happened at the Orlando airport before I lived in Florida. The airport is large and the TSA lines are often long. I chose a line that I didn't realize was moving slower than the others until it was too late to leave and start all over again waiting. The officer checking IDs to boarding passes was a real jerk and was making the line move slower than the others. When he got to me he looked at the photo on my license and my face and then began to loudly give me a lecture about how I should have gotten my license photo changed before traveling and made it obvious to those around me that I was a male traveling as a female. Here's my problem: I would need 2 licenses which I could never get in OH where I was living at the time. I'm only a PT CDer. In Florida at that time you could get a photo ID without it being for license purposes. No such thing existed in OH. I politely said sure and moved on.

My final TSA story is a good one. I had a carry on bag which had sunscreen in it. It was over the 3.1 ozs. and I had completely forgotten about it. The female officer pointed it out to me and I acted surprised with female emotion. She said did your doctor prescribe it for you which having had precancerous skin spots for years I said "Yes". She said with a beautiful smile I still remember "than go right ahead". It was a moment that we were sharing woman to woman. If she knew I was male, it never showed.

Sorry this took so long but I hope it was helpful and interesting.

Hugs,

Mary

Hi Mary,

Welcome to CDH. We have a safe environment here. Our mission is to keep it so.

There are wonderful people here who are happy to share their experiances. Reading articles they have written, life moments shared in forums and in groups on the site. There are chat rooms in the groups as well as a public chat room that has become popular.

Enjoy the site, meet new friends and stay safe.
