Hello All,
I'm Ashley and I've recently got back into the swing of things. I started dressing in the 90's. got married, purged and then got divorced and now I want to get back and start dressing again.
I find it very relaxing and I enjoy the time that Ashley is out and trying on new and cute things.
I recently posted some pictures where Amy from Just You did ALL the makeup. I want to go back but due to the distance and time (and money) i haven't had a chance. Hopefully Ill be going back soon. I CANT WAIT to book another session with her.
Anyways, my journey started when I was 12. I was at my cousins house and we were playing hide and seek and I hid in her closet. There I seen the most beautiful, red prom dress I've ever seen and I wanted to try it on but couldn't then. A few weeks past and again I was at my cousins house and it was only her and I and i told her I wanted to try on that dress. She obliged and helped me get into it. Needless to say, I WAS HOOKED.
It took several years (decades) later, but I finally got around to buying my own clothes and I began to dress. I have never been out in public as I currently only do it private.
However, I would like to start to go out dressed and hopefully meet some very happy and charming and lovely ladies for friendship and outings.
I haven't found a place here in L.A. that can help with transformation services (as I do not know how to do my own makeup and hair). As I said, Just You in Vegas is the nearest to me...unless someone knows of a place here?
But anyways, I'd like to say "Hello" to all you lovely ladies and I hope to hear back from you soon and make some friends 🙂

@ashleylady2000 welcome back to the site. I've only been here a little while but enjoyed it so far. No pics yet-getting some within a month thankfully. LA I think is maybe one of the most active places in the world for CDs. A matter of money and time which are often in short supply in my experience. If you haven't read Alice in Genderland it is worth checking out or buying. Of course she was active in the 90s in LA, but it seems to me any metropolitan area would have resources in addition to the people here. Hope you have good time here and out there too. First welcome back, honestly just looking at your photos not sure you need much help with your makeup, you look amazingly gorgeous.
Many years ago I tried a couple of places in West Hollywood, Century City, but the results weren’t good at all and it was expensive. Probably the best place will be in Las Vegas.

Welcome to CDH. As a fellow lady in the greater LA area, I went to Transformations by Gina. I sat for the makeup lesson and she taught me so much. She is currently in the City of Glendale. When my work schedule allows, I plan to book another lesson since I feel there is more to learn.

I'm trying to build a register of makeover services that I can feed through to our 'Local Places' team, and it amazes me that there aren't any in LA (or, for that matter, San Francisco). London has several, and they're all thriving; there's clearly a gap in the market waiting to be filled by some trans-friendly makeup artists 🙂

There used be a few places in los Angeles and Orange county (that's by Disneyland) But ever since the lock down, they went out of business. It's a real shame too. I just found a place that I would've enjoyed but it too is gone.

I started to crossdress in my teens, and 45 years later the urge is still there.
My male side made peace with Sandie, and i no longer purge or do negative things like that. Both Sandie and her male half coexist peacefully together ❤️.

I love this story. It reminds me of a family friend's red heels, and my sisters and I took turns trying them on. It's funny how cousins and sisters never judge and are happy to share their pretty things.

Gina at Ttansitions is in the LA area. I am not sutr where her current studio is, she was in LA, but moved to Lancastet, but I think she is back in LA or Glendale.
Plenty of options for make up
Sephora, Ultra and MAC are all friendly, but just abkit anywhere in soithern California is an option.

I’ve found the girls at MAC and Sephora have been very helpful. No judgement, just fun and professional. Ive frequented them at the malls in Brea and Montclair, as well as some of the strip mall locations.
Check them out. They are engaging as SAs and if you feel bold enough to tell them you’re a CD and show them a pic of you dressed, they are blown away and become giddy and very friendly! They definitely treat you better. It’s like you’ve been accepted as one of the girls and they can discuss products and tips with you comfortably. At least that’s been my experience!

@lisagurlll Showing yoir MUA a picture is brilliant. At my last makeober the MUA asked if I had pictures of.my pervious maeup sessions at Sephora so she could get some ideas. Now I keep a smaller folder on my phone of such pictures. I love getting my makeup done. It is so fun just to sit in the store and be catered to for an hour with people walking around and seeing the process.
