Hi Everyone, my name is Sheila Roberts, and I’m so glad I found this place! I’ve been looking for a site like this ever since UR Not Alone got bought out, I think over 10 years ago. I’ve been dressing since my early teens and remember experimenting with my mom’s lipstick as a child and trying on pantyhose in 5th or 6th grade. So definitely have a feminine side almost all my life!
I live in the S.F. Bay Area, pretty much grew up here, but originally I’m Canadian by birth. I still love the snow and enjoy bundling up en femme in winter months if I’m lucky enough to travel some place where it snows!
I’m hoping to make many new friends here, and maybe even meet si e people in person eventually.

@ellyd22 hi again Ellie, I finally had some time to look at your profile and some of your other writings and I have to say, you are a an amazing person and a shining light here for all of us! Also, I applaud you for the courage to come out to your mom and sister!
If you don’t mind me saying so: since you’re courageous enough to do that, you have it in you to go out in public as you really are! I remember my first time going out dressed in public ( in my teens ) and my heart was pounding so hard I thought it would burst out of my chest! But I survived and in all the years and many outings since, I’ve never had a bad experience, just the occasional wolf whistle!
please post some more pictures and get out there! Make it a new year’s resolution!

You’ll find many of us have been dressing for a similar length of time to yourself, and trying on pantyhose, or tights as we call them over this side of the pond, has been a starting point for a lot of us, me included.

@sheilagirl Welcome Shelia! I frequented UR Not Alone too and I'm very happy to be here now. My story is very similar to yours regarding my early realization of my feminine side. I'm sure you will find many others here like that too.
I'm in the NE US and I know what you mean about bundling up! Lately, it's all about my parka, sweaters and riding boots to stay warm when outside. I'm a boots girl so I really don't mind though!

Like you when I was young I used lipstick. My Mom was an Avon rep and had sample lipsticks my sisters and I would play with. Being the only boy I didn't have much choice but to play with my sisters during winter lockdowns (lived in snow country) so played with lipstick, dolls and other "girly" activities. Did a bit of dress up too.
