Thank you for accepting me
My name is Lucy and i'm a 40 something trans woman originally from London England.
I have been in the closet all my life and now i want to come out as the real me.
I'm looking for help advice and to make friends with like minded people.
Hey Lucy
Welcome to CDH from another UK girl. I'm also 40 something, as long as the 'something' is a number just under 20.
You'll find that this is a very welcoming, supportive and friendly place. I've been a member since early July, but already the girls here feel like my extended family.
I was in the closet until very recently, when I came out first to my Mother and then to one of my sisters (with VERY happy outcomes in both cases).
There's loads to explore. Have fun poking around, and if you need anything just shout 🙂
Hugs

Thank you so much Ellie.
My 40 something is a number just under 10 lol.
I am just working up the courage and confidence to come out, unfortunately my mum passed away some years ago but i know if she were still alive she would be supportive, i think she knew from when i was really young.
Hugs back girlfriend.
We're actually not too far apart in age then! *Ellie tries to convince everyone that 'ten years' equates to 'not too far'*
I'm trans, but haven't transitioned if you see what I mean. I'm still in boy mode for work but dress full time at home, call myself Ellie, and am beginning to make changes to my appearance that might lead to something further ... we'll see!
I THOUGHT that my Mum knew about my crossdressing, if not my gender identity, when I was young ... but when I came out to her it turned out that she didn't have a clue. So that was interesting 🙂
Anyway ... I've sent you a friend request if you ever want to chat further. I won't be at all offended if you ignore it.
Hugs

PS - I'm in deepest darkest Norfolk.
Ellie thank you sooooo much for being my first friend on here.
I have been dressing for over 40 years, my mum caught me in my sisters skirt when i was like 5, she didn't make a fuss about it and she didn't tell my dad. When i was around 9 or 10 i used to wear her cowgirl boots they were a burgundy colour, i would pretend to be a cowboy but i really wanted to be Daisy Duke lol.
After that all my dressing was done in private, but i'm fed up with living a lie anymore and i want to come out as the woman i really am.
I am delighted to find someone to talk to
Hugs

I've started a message thread ... feel free to talk as much as you like 🙂

Hello Lucy welcome to CDH I am happy you have shared a part of who you are. Having found us you have made the step to become part of a family that is welcoming, understanding, compassionate, and supportive. While we are all similar and have many of the same desires we all differ on our goals or level of public expression and or personal experiences. I encourage you to explore the many forums, topics, polls and member biographies found here as there are a wide range of members all over the spectrum of feminine expression from differing levels of crossdressing to those on the path to transition and those that have. There are also links to websites that have products and services that may help you on your own personal path of self acceptance and expression. Ultimately it is a place, home, or space were you can feel feel comfortable and confident in who you are that you are not alone and this is a place where you can feel safe to express and share part of yourself as being who you truly are as your authentic self, if it makes you a better complete human being expressing your feminine desires feelings and or qualities. I am happy you are here and have made a choice to accept this part of yourself as self acceptance is the most important thing you can do for yourself and others. You can’t expect others to accept you if you don’t accept yourself all of you. As you are sharing a part of your authentic self here on CDH it ultimately lifts some of the burden that you may be feeling which many of us have carried for what seems like a lifetime you are not alone. Being here helps not only yourself but helps others gain acceptance and confidence. I am happy you have made the step to be here. Welcome!
Hugs April

Hi April,
Thank you so much, your words are just what i want to hear.
I am still in the closet like a caterpillar but i am ready to step out as a butterfly, i am just lacking a bit of courage and confidence which i hope being here will help with that.
