Hi everybody I'm Justine, new here but not new to this 'game'.
Long story short: I first started going out & about 'en femme' in the 90s, progressed from shopping trips to clubbing in a 'straight venue', moved to Manchester in 1998 for 15 years, moved back to the North East 11 years ago during an unintentional sabbatical. Found Leeds First Friday, made some great new friends.
Now I'm here looking to broaden my circle some more 🙂
I'm still a house music head at heart & love to go to real clubs whenever I can - I'm married with kids (wife knows, kids don't yet) so I don't get to be 'off leash' too often - living in a cultural wasteland doesn't help (sorry Co. Durham you're pretty & stuff but the nightlife kinda sucks).
If you've ever been to LFF you might've seen me around & if you've ever used the LFF app - that's mostly my handiwork (not the lovely graphics!).
I look forward to seeing some of you around!
@justinetime Hey Justine. Welcome to CDH from another UK girl. Good for you girl for living your life with consideration for the kids. Sounds like you are an experienced girl. I think you're going to love it here. So much support and friendship. You should know that CDH is planning an official LFF meet up in August. There's a few posts about it. What a great way for you to introduce yourself to the great and good of CDH. Lovely to have a on board.

@chrisfp99 thanks very much! Yeah I've just seen about the CDH meetup but I don't know if I can make it yet. It's right in the middle of the school holidays so 'Mrs Time' might have us on holiday then. If I can make it though rest assured I will.
As for the kids - long story but I'm not prepared to risk upsetting any applecarts for the sake of my own convenience. All my garb lives in airtight boxes in the garage or in a case in the boot of my car. If I want to go anywhere en femme I either have to wait to change when I get there, or else change in my car at a super top-secret location (I can tell you a lot of strange stories about that!). Oh boy so many things I can't unsee.
Before August though I'm planning a recce of a new (to me) venue in Newcastle next month which might (if I like the place) result in a full-on night out clubbing there. Not that I dislike chats in quiet bars, but this chick still has a burning need to throw shapes in dark rooms 😉

I've recently added a few Newcastle venues to our 'Local Places' map, since we're having a push on this area of the site at the moment.
Can you have a look to see if the venue you're planning on going to in Newcastle is listed? If not, let me know and I'll add it.
Of course, you may well see other places I've missed too. All venues have to be CD-friendly, safe and inclusive - and before I add sites I always read a few reviews and look at a few photos to make sure I'm not encouraging members to go anywhere they might feel less than secure.

@ellyd22 I noticed that! The venue I'm planning on visiting isn't listed & is a bit off the beaten track ie isn't within 'the pink triangle'. They do have a brilliant looking diversity & inclusion policy though - something many mainstream venues don't shout about. I'll probably write up a newcastle night out last October at some point - I ultimately went to He She They at NX with a friend from out of the area & we had a blast. Two of the bars we visited in the LGBTQ section beforehand, not so much. For a Saturday night a lot of the bars round there were really quiet anyway. Not a patch on how it used to be, sadly.

I get your comment about not upsetting the applecart. My workplace has a dress code and as I'm looking at retirement in a few years I'm in stealth mode most of the time; but looking forward to outings away from home in Chicago and Las Vegas.
