I guess you're referring to Marina Machete, the first trans woman to be crowned Miss Portugal. Interestingly, in the Miss Universe competition she'll be up against Rikki Valerie Kolle (Miss Netherlands) who is also trans. Truly inspirational, both of them!

Anyway, you've just joined the most wonderful, supportive community. I've made lots of good friends here since signing up at the beginning of July. I've loved every minute of my time here, and I'm sure that you will too.

I'm Greta, I'm a 57 year old CD/TG person who is living with extreme happiness the choice to undergo hormone replacement therapy; my life has been complicated for too long by having to hide my gender identity... not that it's easier now, but at least I've happily taken possession of my way of being.
When I'm alone at home or at work or I know I don't have LGBTQ+phobic guests, I'm Greta and I live my femininity freely, but if I'm elsewhere in places where I know I'm surrounded by dull and ignorant people I'm dressed in unisex clothes but of course I'm wearing my women's underwear.

I just tried a Google search for makeovers in California for you but it wasn't much help. Vallejo's only about 30 miles from San Francisco though, isn't it? I imagine that there MUST be some good places there!

I've leave it to someone more local to step in with specific info though ... I'm in Norfolk, UK, so I'm not much help!
