This is a very warm and supportive community, representing a huge range of experience. We have many members who are in a similar situation to you; one thing you can be sure of is that you're not alone.
Incidentally, although I understand where you're coming from when using the word 'fetish' (and I also note your use of inverted commas) I'm always a little wary of crossdressing being referred to in that way. For many of us, dressing is simply a non-sexual expression of who we are. It relaxes and de-stresses us, allowing to connect with an important and fundamental part of ourselves in a way that isn't always possible in our everyday lives.
Incidentally, I'm trans. When I put on a dress or a skirt I don't consider it to be crossdressing at all; these aren't 'women's clothes', they're my clothes 🙂

If you are interested / can get permission, there is a group of CDs who meet twice per month, either in Toronto or at least in the GTA. Look up the Xpressions group on Meetup.
Also, you can learn to shop for women's clothing while in drab. All it takes is a measuring tape, good notes of your dimensions, and time to make corrections. Shopping in person can be liberating.
