Hi, Jan and welcome to this unique community.
Reassurance, support, acceptance, understanding and encouragement are the sworn enemies of nervousness and you'll find them all in abundance here.
Lots of us were hesitant to sign up and tell complete strangers about our "secret". After all, most of us have kept it all our lives, we've suffered the same guilt, shame and fear of being found out.
But, very soon after clicking the button, we wish we'd done it years ago. The understanding and acceptance I've found here has changed my life. I've said this many times now but it stands repetition. In the past year (almost) since I joined, I've stopped hiding and suppressing half of who I am. That this half happens to be female will surprise no-one here. What surprised me was that I actually like this other half. She has influenced me in so many positive ways and, for the first time in my 69 years, I feel whole and complete. I truly never believed that I could feel this happy and at peace and I know this would not have happened without the encouragement and support of the community generally and my friends specifically.
Society will tell you that what we do is wrong and that there must be something wrong with us. Many of us believed this and suffered the consequences (see earlier comment re guilt, shame etc).
Then, we joined CDH and discover that, far from being wrong, we are fortunate and courageous. Fortunate to recognise this feminine part of ourselves and courageous enough to embrace and celebrate it. The rewards can be found here, in the forums, articles and chat, every day. Just have a look around and see for yourself.

@jancardi Hi Jan! No need to be nervous here, all the gals are friendly and helpful. Shape and age have little to do with being feminine, there are biological women out there of all shapes and ages as well. Personally I am 6' 240 lbs and turning 72 next week.
