I have dabbled every now and again in cross dressing but now, in later life, I have gone into it little more. I'm never going to pass as a woman and will probably never go out dressed as one but I feel very comfortable wearing clothes at home. Perhaps one day I might go on one of the local Pride marches as there I can go as anything I want without judgement. My wife is on board with this and looks for things on the internet I might like to wear and we occasionally go shopping for jewellery and accessories. The only downside is that I have a light beard and cannot shave it off because she says that I look like my mother. I have shaved it before and she is right, and I was wearing men's clothing then, so dressed in a dress or skirt would be just too weird now; we just ignore the fact that it's there. I do wear women's perfume when I go out -- a version of Dior's Poison, so it's not subtle -- and also wear ladies bangles and necklaces but no one seems to ask me about it or bats an eyelid because they are used to me being a bit strange as my beard is often dyed blue and I wear shorts and odd socks -- have done for years. I shave my head too so don't have to be concerned about hiding my natural hair when wearing a wig. It would be nice to go out as a woman (without a beard!) but I'm too old now, I am bandy-legged, and I have a very lined face that all the foundation in the world wouldn't cover.
And that's about it for now.
Hi Rebecca, welcome to CDH.
Good to greet another UK girl to the site. I'm up north in Tyne & Wear.
It's brilliant that you have the support of your wife, she sounds like a real treasure. It makes such a difference to have that sort of relationship.
All the girls here love to chat, so if you have any questions, stories to share, or just want to vent, go for it!
Sounds like you have an eclectic enough look to wear just about anything. I have worn a skirt around town in otherwise drab mode, and when I was just in the UK, mostly Scotland, I had cabernet red mails and nobody cared other than the occasional compliment.
Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to CDH it's nice to meet you we are like one big happy family on here so don't be shy come on in and join the family,
I'm a mature crossdresser too I've been dressing most of my life since i was about 8 or 9 years old when i tried my older sister's lingerie on, I'm still in the closet to my wife and family,
I'm a UK girl too I'm up in Shropshire, I'm sure there are lots of girls near to where you live who will be happy to meet up with you for a coffee and a chat I'm sure you will find lots of friends on here so if you have any questions just ask and the girls will get back to you, there are lots of girls on here from beginner's to full time girls who dress 👗 24/7 we don't judge anyone on here it's a safe place for everyone X

Hi Rebecca and welcome to CDH 🙂
I've not long joined also, from the Home Counties area. There seem to be quite a few UK girls on here.

Hi Rebecca I've just joined too, from Derbyshire. Lots of things you said rang bells for me. Also Rozalyn. I too could never dream to pass as a woman and wouldn't really want to. So it's the closet for me especially as my wife has no idea and she's never been too into fem clothes herself. Decided I'd give it a go again as New Year Resolution so have been to the sales and found just enough to make me enjoy dressing again. Not quite sure what I will do next! Anyway lovely to meet you all. Julia
