Hi Lucy 🙂

Welcome to CDH from another UK girl - I'm in Norfolk.

You've just joined a very warm and supportive community. The girls here are wonderful; it's a great place to chat and make friends.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your partner. This is a safe space in which to share your feelings should you need to. We're all very good at listening.

Meanwhile there's lots to explore here. Have fun doing that, and if you need help with anything then don't be afraid to ask!

Hugs

Ellie x

Hi Lucy, welcome to CDH from someone who grew up in Nottinghamshire, but now lives in the Cotswolds. Thank you for sharing about the loss of your partner; I am so sorry for you, but I am glad you are finding that crossdressing is helping you to move on. For me, going out and about crossdressed with my wife is quite normal; I believe this is increasingly accepted in the UK so I hope you find it normal for yourself as well. Having the support and acceptance of your family is a great start. I have found many new friends on CDH and I am sure you will too.

hi how are you doing , i found that most people are not concerned either way . when i go into town people just tend to go about their business . you will always get the odd comment but that's life , you may have got the comment if you were dressed up or not . my family and friends know and are supportive .  not a bad start i was expecting more agg from the general public .

Hi, Lucy, welcome to CDH, the warmest, friendliest and most supportive community it's been my pleasure to find and join.

So sad to hear of your loss, we each face that part of life in our own ways and I'm glad that expressing your feminine side is helping you.

You now also have this family to share with so just ask if there's anything we can help with.

Hi Lucy,  welcome to CDH.

It's lovely to welcome another UK girl.  I'm up the A1 in Tyne and Wear.

May I offer my condolences on your loss.

Crossdressing means different things to different people. No matter what form it takes, or whatever the initial spur which drives it forward, what we do is a deep part of who we are.

It can be tough when you have no one with whom to share your passion,  and it's a position in which many of us find ourselves. Fortunately you've found this amazing site to help you. It's a lively, busy place, friendly and supportive. Importantly, it's a safe environment for you to talk about your dressing with people who know and understand.

Have a good wander around,  see what's what.  And please don't hesitate to ask questions or seek advice.

Hugs

yes i got a lot of replies and was a little suprised at the responses and glad of them . my neighbours and family have already seen me dressed up and are fine, my dad does not know and he is a jehovah's witness so trying to avoid that one . other than him and my work mates everyone knows . i found if i just put it out there people would not be suprised and it not be  a big deal . to be honest i want people to know , sick of hiding it .

Have a look around the forums and dive in. We'd love to hear more from you.

Hi Lucy!

Welcome to CDH!

I think you will find the community helpful, encouraging and supportive.

You said: I lost my partner last year and found cross dressing helped me move on. do not know if this normal but haho if it works it works.

After my wife passed many years ago now, I dressed for a while, and it did help with the pain and grief of my soul mate passing on.

Then I took a long time off ... then two years ago, since I haven't had an SO in all the time since she passed, I decided to full-time cross dress at home.

I have loved being a full-time private crossdresser.

Like you, I can't say if it is "normal," but like you said, if it works, it works, and well, it has worked for me to help with the on-going pain and grief of my wife's passing.

Just sharing, even if something seems like it might be very unlikely someone else has experienced in the CD world, well, here at CDH, most likely someone has experienced it or something close.

Anyway again, welcome to CDH!

Catherine
