Today is the day! I have long dabbled but not committed to being me…today is the day I step up and start experiencing who I am. I have dressed in private for years, and just the past weekend I told my wife, and today I told my brother. What’s next? I don’t know but I am so thrilled to be me!

Telling your wife and brother must have lifted a weight from your shoulders, but I imagine it was also quite scary, so well done for that!

@cdashley I would say she was cautiously supportive. More worried I would leave her for a man. I told her that’s not the plan. The other day I asked her to tell me if it’s too much, and she replied to tell her if it’s not enough. But she hasn’t asked me since…so we’ll see

Coming out to family is terrifying - I came out to my Mum and my sister last summer, so I'm speaking from experience!
At the time I was making a lot of changes very quickly, and getting a little lost in the pink fog. It was a bit intoxicating a couple of good friends on here reined me back in and counselled me to approach things a bit more cautiously. If there's no need to rush, why do so?
Better to slow down, think each thing through and take everything a step at a time.
That won't work for everybody, but in my case it was very good advice 🙂

That's how I felt after I got my first makeover. When I looked in the mirror I knew it was time. Seeing what I'd felt my whole life was the catalyst for everything that followed. OMG so many things I never expected. Peeling away layers of a mask to find the real me. I'm a different person today.

Welcome, and congratulations on you being you. I know the feeling of dressing to some degree or other for so.eti.e, and then realizing that it is just who you are. It lifts such a burden.
Well done , you are still you but in a different wrapper , that's how my wife see,s me and she has no problems at all infact she helps me buy clothes and gives make up hints and tips .If we out shopping and thinks I would like something she says do you think your sister would like that ? it's a code that works for us . Who knows what the future will bring , just enjoy yourself and be happy .
