Hello, girls!
I'm Emma, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. I started dressing when I was quite young, perhaps 8-10 years old. I stopped after a few years, mostly due to lack of opportunity and so many other things going on in life. I felt far from it for decades, and now in my mid-40s I find myself drawn back to dressing and embracing my femme self.
I'm married, and my wife and I are finding our way. I don't want to rush ahead while we're still working on it, so slow and steady wins this race. We regularly have pedis together, but she's not ready for me to do my fingernails just yet. Hopefully we get to go clothes shopping together soon and we can have that experience.
Because the physical/performative end of dressing isn't something I can pursue right now, I've been focusing on finding out who Emma is mentally and emotionally. Trying to spend time letting Emma out is an everyday thing for me. So is learning everything I don't know about being a woman! I feel like I don't even know what I don't know yet, but hopefully that will progress.
Chatting with people here over the last couple of weeks has helped me a lot and given Emma a good outlet for coming out. Thank you all for that. The community here is top-notch!
I'd love to talk to other girls, especially those in a relationship like mine, where you're journeying with your partner and taking things as they come.
xo,
Emma
Hi Emma
Welcome, from another Canuck. It's all learning, and its all good! My gf and I have come a long way with the femme in my life.
I like your attitude towards things. I think the first 1 1/2 for me was about 75% mental recognition and awakening. Enjoy the journey and we'll be here for both of you along the way.
Hi, Olivia!
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the outreach! I really appreciate it. I hope the friend request is not unwelcome!
Awakening is an excellent word for it. I like the metaphor about waking up in the morning -- in that respect, Emma's barely got her eyes open yet. So much more to come!
Thanks again! xo
Welcome Emma. As you know this is a great place to discover who you are with tons of support. I wish you and you wife the best as you learn about Emma together.
Thank you, Michelle! I look forward to being part of the community here on CDH. 🙂

Hi Emma,
So much of what you say rings true for me, I am in the UK but happy to chat anytime.
I am sure you will find friendship here.
Jessica x.
Thank you, Jessica! I hope to chat with you soon!
I agree, Tiff! Sharing experiences is one of the quickest routes to learning, I think -- and I've got lots of that to do! Thanks for the warm welcome! xo
Thank you so much, Tiff! You're the best! xo

Thank you, Stephanie! It's a great site. I'm hoping that my wife will have an account here in time, perhaps! I've received such wonderful support here already, and know she could benefit from some as well. After all, things don't just change for us!
I think it's the community and friendships that help the most many days. Whatever other problem we encounter, we can turn to our friends and the community for support! Thanks for welcoming us to it.
xo,
Emma
