so sad with a wife or So cannot be more open minded or supportive.  That would go a long ways in helping with your guilt and shame in accepting who you are.  Smart move to hide from your kids, they are too young to understand it.   My first wife used to throw it in my face anytime we argued, which adds to the negative feelings. Hopefully she can come to terms with it and realize how much closer it woudl bring you if she jumped on board rather than fighting it.
