Hi, I'm new here. Sorry if this becomes a double post, but I'm not sure if my first post went through. Anyway, I'm a cis woman who's with a MtF crossdresser and I've come here to meet new people and get insights from other crossdressers.

Hi River, welcome to CDH! Glad that you wish to learn more. This is a great resource to help through articles, forums, groups and chatting with all amazing ladies.  As Eleanor mentioned we have a significant others group that is specifically for helping and meeting other loved ones who are looking to understand or learn more. So please feel free to contact me or other ladies on the site,  hugs,

Michelle

My Dear MS River...welcome here to this fascinating place where the gurls here manage to express care and concern, give advice and commiserate, and generally care for each other and their own experiences.

Yes, I too am a CD/TV, taught to dress with and for 3 of my 17 aunts who were ALL afraid of men - Grandpa was a MEAN DRUNK who repeatedly tried to kill the monsters in his house when "in his cups"!  So...I'd guess I was a "safe-substitute.  Only 4 of those 17 ever married, and one of those had the marriage annulled an hour after finding out what her new husband wanted and needed from her!

My mother was one of those 17, and she caught me dressed up one hot summer night (must have made too much noise) and left, across the footboard of my bed, a dress, her corset, some stockings and a pair of gloves.   I was never sure whether that was permission to continue or a warning but was VERY careful afterward...it didn't stop my own need to dress when I could.

Its often hard to tell a wife what this interest is...the first response is usually, "ARE YOU GAY???"   Most of us are not, feeling we have been born in the wrong body.  But then, there are those cases where some of us have been killed for admitting it, or embroiled in nasty divorce settlements...and shunning by friends...sighs.   So we become very reticent, and do everything we can to hide this need to dress up as a girl...even though its often almost a daily thing...

So, MS River, ask questions if you have them, someone will be willing to answer...so don't hesitate...and again, Welcome to this wonderful place!

Thank you for your very detailed reply, Suzanne! I'm sorry that you've had bad experiences. My first question for my SO wasn't "are you gay?" because he already told me he was bisexual. I took him telling me he was bisexual like he just told me his favourite colour, so I guess that might have helped him when he told me he liked wearing women's clothes. I did ask if he was transgender, and he told me he "doesn't think" he is. He does have feminine feelings sometimes, though. He chalks it up to wacky hormones, but I'm not sure.

I do have one question, but I'm not sure if I should make a new topic for it - do you guys act differently while dressed up compared to when you're in "male mode?" I haven't seen my SO dressed up all that much so even though I'm accepting of it, I'm kind of worried there's an entirely different person hiding there.
