My name is Keri, and so excited to be here. Living in the shadows most of my life, wondering "what was wrong with me?" Now retired am just worn out trying to figure everything out. Just want to be still and breathe. Am married to a wonderful, yet conservative wife. After failed attempt to disclose, decided to just return to closet. There's no need to feel alone any more; you've just joined a wonderfully warm and supportive community. This is a great place to make friends. The girls here love to chat, and it's a safe and non-judgmental space.
There's a huge amount to explore. Have fun doing that, and if you need help with anything just shout.
And, for the record ... there's nothing wrong with you. Crossdressing is a perfectly normal thing; it's society that's at fault, not you.

This place is packed to the rafters with empathetic girls. You can be yourself here; we're all in the same boat and we really do look out for one another.

I always think that it's good form to let someone know that a friend request is on its way, and introduce yourself in a short message on someone's Wall (to get to their profile, just click on their name or their icon).
If folk receive a friend request 'cold' from someone they don't know, they're less likely to accept it.
Also, don't be offended if someone doesn't immediately accept your friend request 🙂
Many of the girls will spend time 'checking you out' first, by reading through your profile or your forum posts, and some may leave your request 'pending' for a while before accepting. It's nothing to worry about ... you'll quickly make friends here, and the more active you are on the site the easier it will become.

@kerilee Keri, first let me assure you there's nothing wrong with you hun. From our perspective it's quite natural to have a feminine side. We quite like it! And now that you've joined CDH you're no longer alone. You'll find nothing but friendship and support from the girls here. We're all at different stages of our crossdressing journey. My story is remarkably similar to yours. I have a wonderful, but religious and conservative wife. I have never considered coming out to her. I have no clothes at home and almost zero opportunity to dress. I feel your frustration. My only recent opportunities for some quality femme time have been a couple of professional makeovers (which were life-changing!).
Nevertheless my membership here at CDH has been so comforting and means an awful lot to me. The girls here really look out for each other and I've made some lovely friendships. I so hope you can do the same. If you join in you'll feel so much better about yourself.

Thank you for your kindness. Our situations sound quite similar. I too have gotten rid of most of my clothing, and receive very little private time. I am devoted to my wife and wish her no ill ,however with her strong faith I really was hoping for some level of empathy when I opened up just a small piece of my feelings. Thinking back to my younger days I almost blush when remembering my wardrobe and costumes. Thank you for reaching out

"Living in the shadows", a good description that will surely apply to many, if not most of us. Until we found CDH!
I am lucky, I told my wife relatively recently and she's great but there were many many years of hiding, feeling shame and guilt, purging...etc etc. And then, I discovered this accepting and supportive community just nine months ago and with it, a happiness and peace of mind that I've never felt before.
You speak of learning to embrace the female inside, Keri and that is the single most important change that I've made. Over 50 years of denying and suppressing my female side just caused no end of emotional and behavioural problems.
So, you are no longer alone, you are a full and equal member of our sisterhood and are free to share with us in perfect safety. Anything you need, just shout, we love to help.
