My wife thinks I should reach out to others and get in touch with my crossdressing. I have been afraid to for many reasons. But have had the urge to come out lately. I have always thought a transformation would be a great way to start. How did it go for you and your thoughts.

I've had several, but all by makeup artists local to me, that were simply open minded. I looked at the facebook page for Makeover's with Elizabeth Taylor. Looks to be a real safe place for your first makeover. The important thing is to be comfortable. If you're too nervous, you'll sweat. Nothing anyone wants when made up. Sounds like they will do photo shoots and also accompany you out if you want. The after pics of the girls show Elizabeth is talented. I was on the website. It's not exactly inexpensive, but it will be a totally safe space.

Hi Paula and welcome!
Have to look up where York is in relation to Cinci, where is where I am relocating to, but otherwise I am in kind of the same boat of you.
Senior, retired, really wanting to open up further and meet others around my age to be able to chat about the journey we've had and to maybe finally publicly enjoy our feminine selves, in the relative safety of a posse. Major difference, my SO is quite supportive, even though this is very new to her (We met 8 months ago).
In regards to your topic subject line, I have heard of a service in Pittsburg that I am thinking of checking out soon after I have relocated to Cinci.
I don't know if I can post their info here, so if you are interested, shoot me a PM.
Anyways, welcome to to gang!

My first makeover changed my life. It was my escape from prison (my closet). Most of my makeovers (I've had many) have been on the West Coast. But I've heard lots of good things about Elizabeth Taylor. Chances are your expectations will be exceeded....regardless of who does your makeup. Go for it!

Welcome to CDH.Perceptionsdiffer. But tge innerfeeling is the key. And accept and do not ndeny.
Hi Paula,I highly recommend a professional makeover, ideally by a 'transformational' makeup artist. Our little group goes to Las Vegas quite frequently and our first stop is for a professional makeover. None of our group has ever been disappointed with the outcome, and the look on "first timer's" faces when they see themselves in the mirror for the first time is so much fun! (On one trip a girl was so infatuated with her look she spent most of the time we were in Las Vegas in front of the mirror taking 'selfies" I recommend you do a Google search for a makeup artist specializing in CD makeovers in your area. (Yes, a good makeup artist will do in a pinch, but one who specializes in girls like us, knows just how to accentuate our best features .) All I know is when Amy gets done with me I feel very girly and ready to go 'out and about'! Try it, I know you will not be disappointed! Hugs, Paulette
Paula,
Elizabeth Taylor is quite skilled and I've seen a number of girls who have used her services.
I know her personally through our local CD/TG meetup group, and she is very professional and supportive.
She has a number of packages available so check out what most interests you!
BTW, we have meetups down here in the DC/MD/VA area frequently so check us out on meetup dot com. DC Regional TransLadies.

Hi Paula,
I’ve done several sessions with Beth Taylor and I highly recommend her. She has an intro package where she does your makeup, wig and outfits and then a photo session. She has a private studio full of clothes, shoes and wigs and a professional photo setup. She specializes in the TGCD community and really knows her craft.
When you arrive she will take all your measurements and determine your size in women’s clothes and figure out what shades of makeup work for your skin and face type. When you’re done, she has a chart you take with you with all your info on it. It’s a great reference.
Once you are transformed, you spend time taking photos and she gives you the memory card from the camera.
What’s really nice is that it’s a safe, accepting environment and the chance to enjoy a look created by a professional. It was amazing to to step in front of a mirror and see the truly feminine person you’ve always wanted to be.
I followed up with several makeup and wardrobe lessons that were super helpful. I’ve posted before that starting makeup with Beth will pay for itself by saving on buying the wrong things trying to learn on your own.
As Leah mentioned, she helps run a local trans/CD group on Meetup and they do social events.
The only downside is the extra spending you’ll do on clothes and makeup because you’re hooked and you have the confidence to be out more.
Good luck and make an appointment, you’ll be glad you did!
All the best,
Jen
Paula welcome to Cdh

I've had four makeovers with Beth over the years. The experience each time was absolutely superb! I couldn't possibly recommend her more strongly!
I wouldlove to chat with you some time. We may be similar with only dressed for makeover
Yes I’m part of the Vegas Vixens that use Amy . When she did me the first time, I just sat in the chair staring at the lady in the mirror. I didn’t want to get up, as I thought I would lose her and the feeling. Highly recommend as part of a first time in public. PS no, I wasn’t the one taking the selfies but she was with us.
Hi Paula! I’ve had 3 makeovers with Elizabeth and she is fantastic. My wife has joined me for each one and also a few of our friends. She is very skilled at makeup and has tons of clothing, wigs, accessories and shoes although I always bring my own. I have a few pics from her makeovers in my photos and I’m always amazing when I look back in the mirror. She makes it super comfortable for my wife and they usually talk the whole time. I think it really helps her to be around a woman who is fully accepting and to talk about it. Feel free to ask any questions you have. I highly recommend it and also go to Freddie’s beach bar afterwards, you’ll have a blast.
