I'm from Ann Arbor Michigan and need advice on were to really begin with all this.
John, trying to figure and how to begin with this is certainly a taunting task but now you are among friends to help you in every way . We understand how you must be feeling and here is a good place to explore and discover who you are. Many here experience different paths but all have a common goal to transform ourselves to be that lady we feel inside. Meet with them ,talk to and share each others experiences through this wonderful world we have chosen. Enjoy your time with us and know your part of a caring community of support and acceptance for all , welcome..

I want to learn to look natural and it never works. I wish I could find a transformation service near me to help me see how I can really look.
Welcome John
Its all up to you, A femme name would be good thing though. Reading some of the forum posts will be a guide as well.
How do you feel about these things, what have you tried, how do you see yourself?
A little insight would be helpful in giving any advice. If you're shy or scared, thats ok, you can start sharing a little at a time or PM myself or many of the other girls here, we try to be supportive.
Definitely shy. All trys with makeup has turned out awful. I want to meet people near by who could help me.
Welcome as well from me. This is a great place to explore and learn about dressing, like another poster has said, take time to read through many of the posts and forums here.
My first tries at make up were pretty scary, and I'm still not that good at it, though like so many other things, practice makes perfect.
Depends on what resources are near you, but the cosmetic store Sephora is known to be CD and Trans friendly, the same with MAC cosmetics. You can arrange for a make up lesson, for a cost, of course.
Think about what clothes you like, and do you have a wardrobe of things you like yet? Bra, waist cinchers or cosets, and hip and bum pads will help give you the shape you need to look the part.
Hope that this helps you a bit!
Amy
