My one daughter is named Stephanie also, usually call her Steph. We ( ex and I ) were going to call her Cassandra but figured she would be called Cassie . To me that reminded me of Lassie in that old TV series . I associated dog with that term also used by some for those not attractive back in the day . So instead chose Stephanie . Fortunately her looks were never a concern . I worked construction for 8 summer's on a road crew ( to help pay for my education ) and heard just about every derogatory term in the book ( to put this into context ).
I'm a bit overwhelmed about the warm welcome here , and after feeling so isolated it is great .
Those high heels wouldn't even be a choice for me with my extra wide feet and osteoarthritic knees ( severe) .
