Hi I am a newbie, quite shy girl who has never done social media before.
It is all quite daunting, but you appear to be a friendly bunch.
My initial plan is to quietly explore and understand myself better more than anything.
I have been happily and progressively been criss dressing for many years as a very definite male. But I had a sudden and salutary epiphany that I wasn't really being honest with myself and have come to the conclusion that I am actually a trans woman, though at my age, other than blending in better, I am not considering taking it much further.
I can out a couple of weeks back to a close internet friend and was quite taken back by the instantaneous emotional and whole body reaction that came from just pressing the send button.
It made me realise just how much I was subconsciously repressing
Peace of mind is a great gift whatever obstacles it might raise
I'll see how it pans out.
Hope you all understand that I will be a bit of a submarine member for a while.

Don't be daunted ... we are just as friendly as we appear to be! Feel free to engage with the site as much or as little as you want. Lots of new members are happy to just sit back and watch what's going on for their first few days, weeks, or even months. Sometimes it's enough to know that there are plenty of other girls out there like ourselves ... and that they're all perfectly normal, well-adjusted, lovely people.
There's lots to explore here. Have fun doing that, and if you help with anything, just shout.

I don't have any social media accounts either, and I see CDH as far more of a family so welcome to the family!
You speak of repressing, well I joined this amazing community 9 months ago and discovered that I'd been denying and repressing fully half of who I am for well over 50 years!
Now that Allie is free, and living in harmony with my male side, I've found a happiness and peace of mind that I've never known before. This community can and does change lives.
Take the time you need and when you're ready, get involved, you'll get the most benefit from being a member that way.
In the meantime, if you need anything or have any questions, just shout, we'll do our best.

Hi Shirley,
Welcome to CDH from yet another UK member. I am down in the Cotswolds, but I did live in Lincolnshire for a while (actually, just for a few months when I was 4 years old!).
This is a great place to make friends with like minded folk. Take your time to immerse yourself in everything here, then start engaging and sharing when you are ready. I know it took a while before I started to really engage and contribute, but it was when I did so that I really found the value of the support, encouragement and friendship to be found here.

Welcome, Shirley. What a wonderful story you have already told. Thank you for how it touched me. Those of us who are female inside live with strong emotions and being fair to our female nature unfetters the sweeping emotions that affect all women. I concluded this year that I am a trans woman. I cross dressed for decades. Was never quite right with it. After my awakening, I have been far happier every day.

Welcome Shirley we're glad to have you. A lot of caring and compassionate ladies here. Same as you had never really been on social media but I was at a crossroad. I've had difficulty accepting this other side of me but the ladies on this site has helped me accept my true self.
