Hi ladies I'm new to this site I'm Stephanie and I've been a crossdresser for ten years and I've been wanting to take the hormones has anyone already done this if so can you hmu so you could maybe help me in the right direction
Dear Stephanie
Talk to an endocrinologist who is an expert in sexual transition.
Don't use "dr.Google" like too many people do.
HRT is a serious matter and will have repercussions on your physical morphology, your emotionality will be subjected to great variations, sometimes even violently. Talk to a psychotherapist.
This is my suggestion!
XOXO from Italy 🇮🇹

Great advise
Hi Stephanie,
I'm trans. I've been on HRT almost 2 years. I have an endocrinologist that mostly treats trans patients. And I have a good gender therapist. As Greta said, taking hormones is serious business. Lots of things can go wrong. Buyers remorse really sucks. You want to make sure it's the right decision for you. A good gender therapist can help you sort that out. If you decide HRT is the right thing for you, you'll need a doc that knows how to treat trans patients. Lots of docs don't. You might also need a letter from your therapist stating you're a candidate for HRT.
Tough love. It sounds like you might be looking for a DIY solution. Don't do it. It's a huge risk. You need labs and a doc that knows how to interpret them. Your doc will adjust your meds based on your labs. And you need a doc for an Rx to legally get meds. Yes, you can sidestep all that if you want. There is a gray market for hormones. You can play doctor. You won't have labs. You'll have no idea what you're doing to your body. You could really mess it up. Permanently. You could die.
Seriously. Do it the right way. Talk to a therapist if you really want to proceed. You'll be glad you did.

I am currently in the process of taking to a therapist about getting started. I need a few bits and bobs taken care of (mostly paperwork) before I can proceed but still excited about it
I have wanted to be a girl/woman all since early childhood but didn't know it was possible until well into my 30s and starting a family.
When my children were in their teens I began going out as Marianne and a few years later I started looking into transitioning.
Now in Sweden the only way to legally get hormone treatment and gender confirmative surgeries is by going through one of eight national gender clinics working under the national health service. My first referral was immediately returned. The second one was accepted and I was out on a waiting list for to see a therapist. The expected waiting time was six months but this was just at the Covid pandemic hit and it would be almost 2 1/2 years before I was called to my first session.
Initially it seemed very straightforward as I was mature, well informed and had a good social network, but as the weeks went by, the therapist focused on a major requirement she found I lacked: I didn't suffer from severe dysphoria. In the end she concluded that I was presumably "some kind of crossdresser" and as such wasn't eligible for any medical procedures.
From the very beginning I was adamant to do things the right way and not to enter the tricky marsh of DIY HRT and so I was rather disappointed being dismissed.
Now there is an UK-based organisation called Gender GP providing HRT via online appointments and also providing lab work on request. However it is all out of pocket and the price tag is pretty steep, while going through the NHS is virtually free of charge.

Your profile states Texas. You may have to move to get them!
But in case your state allows this. There is what is called "informed consent" websites that will get you prescriptions or HRT medications on their sites using informed consent! FOLX Health is one and Planned Parenthood is another. You do an online visit with a doctor from them and if you are healthy enough you will get your meds! You have to agree to blood tests to measure you levels. But they even help you with that. Some places like Planned Parenthood takes insurance so your costs are less than a monthly subscription from FOLX and others.
But please make sure thats what you want! If you have any doubts please speak with the pro's first. Start with a therapist and speak with them. FOLX has a good reading sections about HRT and Trans life so read them. Just make sure thats right for you! I have been on HRT 3 months now! If you want to ask me any other questions PM me. Good luck Brenda
Folx and Plume (another trans tele-health provider) are both available in TX.
