Started before I was six years old. Very few know at all and certainly not my SO. I just needed to reach put to try to make sense of things. Most of the time I am fine not wearing undergarments...but when stress level is high... I just have to wear.

Hi Melissa

you are not alone and never have been - its just that you have not connected to some one who has the same issues as you do. CHD is the place to be with others who have similar needs and by being able to share experiences and feelings  will develop a state of self acceptance and understanding which will hopefully help you manage things better.

There are some lovey people here who will be able to share experiences and help you

Just be yourself and hold your head up high as you are not alone and never will be.

hugs Dawn x

Welcome!  So happy to have you here.  This is a judgement free zone.  Secrets are not necessary, share as much or as little as you want.  Sometimes the talk is serious, most of the time its fun!  Make friends, ask questions, and just chat.  Most importantly, have fun!

Welcome Melissa! I can safely say that you are absolutely not alone. I have lived most of my life thinking that there was something wrong with me for thinking and feeling the way I did. And, I thought I was the only person in the world like that, everyone else must be "normal". It wasn't until I discovered CDH that I realized that not only was I not alone, but there are a LOT of us out here.

Gender is a socially made-up construct. It's ok to be different, and explore your feminine side too, within your own comfort levels.

I think we all go through the feeling we are alone due to our choice to enjoy our famine side. I was lucky to have A crossdressing father and uncle and A mom and sister who supported me and provided clothing for me to wear. During the 50's crossdressing wasn't spoken about at all or if it was called A perversion by the narrow minded. Even with all the support I had I still felt alone in this wicked world, Growing up in the 50's we had no internet only books in then library that provided little information or support, despite my dad and uncle saying that there were thousands of men and boys like us didn't seem to help much at the time. As the years passed I just excepted that yes I was different but much more in touch with my famine side and that brought me peace of mind. Today thanks to CDH and other sites we learn that there are millions of us In all walks of life and all over the world. NO WE ARE NOT ALONE.

Me too Melissa, you are not alone. My dressing also seems to be a way of coping with certain stressors.

Hi Melissa,
And welcome. I used to think I was all alone and totally weird, until I stumbled across some CD videos on YouTube, and eventually found my way here. Now I understand; we are definitely different from most folks, but still normal people. It may take a little time to accept that idea, but it's the truth, and when you accept it, you will be a much happier girl.

Hugs,
Bettylou
