Hi all
I'm Susie, another middle aged lady who has finally managed to accept the feminine side of their nature. It's only taken just over 30 years, enough 'purged' clothing to stock a Primark and a change in society to one that is comparatively more accepting than the one of my youth.
I consider myself fortunate, my wife knows about this side of me and is accepting and supportive, whilst I describe myself as a crossdresser, I believe in modern terms, I would be more gender neutral, swinging between the two sides of my minds makeup, I am (finally) comfortable in who I am and truly blessed that my wife is also comfortable with all of me.
I'm not widely out, my feminine side isn't assertive fulltime, I'm comfortable with the duality of myself, its odd, but there are very definite differences in me depending on what part of me is in the driving seat, consequently I have no plans or desire to transition to full time. My body is relatively neutral, other than a brief experiment with a beard for a year or two, I keep my body shaved now after realising nobody's gives a rats arse if your legs are shaved anymore and I'm fairly certain they never did.
My first 'eureka' moment came unexpectedly one evening, my wife was away for a few days and I had the place to myself (familiar story for many). I was sat on the sofa watching a film, dressed in leggings, simple 'sports' type knickers and a bra underneath and a fleece over my top, wig on, but no makeup. I'd been dressed that way since I got up, I'd been pottering around the house doing the normal dull stuff without even thinking about what I was wearing. I then realised I was sat, with a cuppa, just curled up watching a film, totally content. Nothing sexual to it at all, hadn't even thought about it until that point, but realised that just feeling my feminine side and expressing it for me was what i'd been doing. It sounds daft, but for me it was a revelation into a deeper me that had somehow managed to sneak out and finally plucked up the courage to say hi to me.
There's been signs id missed along the way obviously, probably the biggest being actually purchasing plain sports underwear and leggings and not clicking that it was functionally female, rather than the normal sexy female stuff I had previously been buying.
I've realised I'm rambling, this is supposed to be a brief intro and I've turned into my notebook!

@susiewilts Hi, Susie, I love your intro! I know exactly what you mean, I had a very similar experience a few weeks ago. Wife, who is accepting and supportive within her own limits, was away for the weekend. I found myself sitting after dinner, wearing my mid length,long sleeved, collar neck dress, quality tights and fluffy mules and just like you, let out a big happy sigh, not sexual at all. Sensual yes but mostly comfortable not just in my Allie clothes but in my own skin. Also like you, it's only taken me far too many years to reach this. Better late than never though 😊.

I had one of those Eureka moments not long after I came out to my Mum and sister. I was visiting them for my birthday, and we were all sitting watching a film together, when it occurred to me that everything I was wearing was female. Okay it was jeans, a t shirt and a long cardi (and, of course underdressed), so I wasn't exactly vamping it up ... but I'd gotten so used to dressing like that that it was no longer registering with me.
I dress full time at home, but suddenly here I was doing it in front of others. And, like you, I hadn't even thought about it.
Anyway ... back to the welcome! There's lots to explore here. Have fun looking around, and if you need help with anything just ask 🙂

Welcome Susie from another UK girl. There's plenty of us here! Sounds like you are in a pretty comfortable place with your crossdressing. And a supportive wife is pretty much the holy grail. Some of us here are not so lucky. Anyway you'll find the girls here are at all sorts of different stages on their journey.
