I am hosting a dinner Thursday 7:30 pm at Bahama Breeze, Duluth for any CDs or transwomen or couples. Ask for Rhonda. Contact me, please so I can update seating needs. Friday eve I'd like to know if anyone has interest in a Carole King musical in Sandy Springs. Would like to meet for dinner, followed by the concert. Saturday eve the Tri-Ess group plans to have dinner at 5:30 followed by Symphony at 8 pm... Tchaikovsky Symphony #1 and Bartok piano concerto... a chance to dress up and enjoy a great concert.. tickets still available. I'll be in town until Sunday, for anyone caring to meet up.
Thanks! 🙃 🌺
Sounds like fun, wish i was near enough to go.
For those wishing to attend but unable this time, please let me know if you wish to be notified of future events in Atlanta.
During my 3 days as Rhonda I
- started the trip with a mani/pedi and eyebrow wax in a nail salon,
- hosted this dinner for 6, which was great fun for all,
- visited my endocrinologist, where all know and address me as Rhonda,
- ventured into a hair salon with about 20 beautiful women (no CDs) to have my hair shampooed and styled (it was a mess I could not fix within a day, and graying hair with receding forehead suggests a wig is best for me, but the experiment was worth it and I might try again.. next time with color!; I at least improved since my previous effort on a cruise by growing some hair to make my bald spot less visible)
- enjoyed a fantastic musical, joined by a daughter,
- met friends and a few CDs I had not met before, at a support group meeting,
- attended a block party where a CD friend led a band,
- had dinner with a group of 7 other CDs,
- managed to secure a prime seat at Symphony Hall to enjoy a piano concerto and symphony,
- enjoyed breakfast with Fran,
- and drove 300 miles en femme, stopping en route a few times where I enjoyed getting "Ma'am"ed before returning home to a more mundane existence.
I really need to get out more!
Sounds like a good time was had by all Rhonda! Yes, please post future with as much advance as you can. I'm up in MN but do some travel for work and would like to join some future party.
When I travel to Atlanta I try to arrange it on the second weekend of the month, as that is when the Tri-Ess chapter gathers and plans activities. I host a dinner on Thursday evening which is independent of that group, but members or former members are often in town and may come to that. I try to meet up with as many as I can...any part of the trans community, their spouses/SOs, and allies. If there is interest, I invite any so inclined to join me at an MCC service Sundays, a very welcoming church that even has changing rooms for any who may find that more comfortable, and which gathers informally after the service. I often plan something for lunch. Sometimes the church hosts visiting students, from a university somewhere else in the country who volunteer their time during breaks to do charity work and bunk down at the church for the week. I host them for lunch whenever the opportunity arises. That is always a fun experience. They have to qualify academically for the opportunity to travel and are always bright, gifted individuals who have a lot to share and are equally interested in learning about the trans community. Sometimes I will visit an assisted living facility to entertain with piano or find other activities... maybe a ball game or something... to enjoy en femme. I might give a presentation to university students or do other outreach. A lot depends on the interests of those I meet or who are availab le. I am pretty flexible... always lots of fun doing the many things available in the area and taking full advantage of my Rhonda time.
