I'm thinking about going to transweek for a day or two in October. I'd like to experience walking around in public dressed up for the first time. The website for transweek is listing a registration fee for the full week or half week, but I just want to go for a day or two. Does anyone know if you can only walk around downtown if you are registered? I don't want to make a very long drive up there and be turned away. Any advice for a day trip is appreciated.
In case anyone reading this doesn't know, Trans Week, previously known as Fantasia Fair, is a week-long transgender event held every October in the fishing and LGBT resort village of Provincetown, Massachusetts, on the very tip of Cape Cod. It's a long-established event, having run every year since 1975.
The dates this year are October 20th - 27th.

You don't have to be registered just to walk around town or eat in a restaurant, just for any of the official Transweek functions. The place is full of tourists in addition to the Transweek attendees.
