My wife and I live with her 87 year old mother. My MIL helps me with my wife (she's disabled), and my wife and I watch my MIL (Dementia). Anyway, the MIL doesn't know about my weekend wardrobe activities. I just got out of the shower, fully dressed, including makeup and boobs. My wife reminded me I was doing laundry. MIL has gone to bed so I went and got the laundry out of the drier. I took it back to my room, folded it and put it away. Then I took the basket back to the laundry room. When I walked out, there was MIL standing there not two feet from me. I walked around the bar and turned off the light. She didn't say anything, but I don't know how she didn't see me. Maybe it's a good thing? If she knows, I won't have to hide it from her anymore. Maybe

@kapt Rikki, I have a thought, and I hope it helps you.  I had a Mother in Law with Dimentia and a Father in Law with Alzheimer’s.  What I found was that both of these people had very little short term memory.  Both of them could recall things in their late past vividly, but not much in the present.  Unfortunately, it’s a part of the disease.  So, while your Mother in Law might have seen you dressed, but she might not recall it.  So I wouldn’t assume that she knows you as Rikki and now you are green lighted to dress in front of her.

Further, if you do dress in front of her, prepare for her to tell other people she knows, because most people with these conditions are unfiltered to a certain extent.  Good luck,  and I’m sorry you are going through this with your Mother in Law and wife too.  You are a good person to take care of them both.

@erinb If she asks why I was dressed like a girl I'll tell her "Why not?"

She's seen it before, Halloween and whatnot. Never on a Sunday night in January though lol

I live alone. If I walk into a room and someone is there, how I am dressed will be the least of anyone’s problems…

She hasn't said a word about it to either my wife, or me. This means one of three things:
1) She didn't see me (I don't know how)
2) She saw me but doesn't remember
3) She doesn't care

I told my wife I'd put a dress on and see what happens, but she said no. Doesn't want to traumatize an 87 year old woman. I get that
