Good Day all
I have started traveling for work again. This means that I am in a new factory now and then. I used to have a job with the corporate office where I was in a different Factory every week. I made a lot of Freinds over the 7 years at Corporate. Since Covid started I have been stationed in one factory.
Last week and this week I was back on the road.
Yesterday was the first time seeing my Freinds from this particular factory in 4 years.
I have my nails pained in a spaklely red with an accent nail on each hand for this week.
I did a light day time makeup before leaving the hotel. I put on my work clothes. Black skirt black pants, safety shoes.
I get to the meeting room where the day is to start. The people I coached in my old role were in the role. So I starts with as we are all Freinds let me show you why the red nails.
I bring up the group photo from the Christmas gala with me and my freinds in our finest outfits. They could not spot me. So I zoomed in on me in the photo. They al said I looked great. The one said so you are the Paula that keeps popping up on my Tik Toc feed. I said yes. But please don't connect with me there.
They day went without a mention from anyone I worked with for the day. Nothing changed with Mt co workers on how they talked with me or treated me.
Tonight I am going to dinner with another old freind from a different factory. I am trying to decide if I should show up in the dress I brought or the look like the person they know, then just tell her about me.

So an update. I went out to dinner In dress, and heeled boots with my grind mentioned earlier. She was at the restaurant before me. I saw her as soon as I walked in. She jumped up and gave me a huge hug. We chatted about my new journey, about family, kids, work, shared stories about the last 3 Yeats of out lives. We sat in the restaurant for 3 hours eating talking, just catching up. The staff were great.
I showed her pictures of me shares stories. At the end she hugged me and thanked me for including her in this part of me.
This is the first time I came out while dressed. Every other conversation was showing pictures of me. It was great. No nerves no apprehension.
It is getting so easy to just be me out and about. I feel lighter and happier being out.
The world is more accepting than you think.

What wonderful experiences for you. To be accepted by your colleagues like that must have made you feel ecstatic. Your dinner sounds lovely being able to spend time with an old friend like that. I envy you for what you have done. Hoping you have more experiences like this in the future.
