Sunday my fiancée was out of town, so I put together a cute outfit, called up my sister's ex and headed out on the town. The whole story is a bit long-winded, and it's already laid out pretty well on my blog (link in my bio), so I'll keep this post short.
While at Goodwill, looking at purses, I noticed an elderly woman smiling at me. I said hello to her and she proceeded to tell me how cute my outfit was and that it reminded her of the way her late husband used to dress. We agreed that life is short and people should dress in whichever way they're comfortable with.
A few minutes later, while looking for a top to go with this really pretty skirt I found, I mentioned to my cohort that I couldn't wear the skirt too high for fear of exposing the twig & berries. Out of nowhere, a woman on the opposite side of the rack suggests wearing leggings with the skirt. She goes on to tell me how gorgeous the skirt is, and that she thinks I'll look great in it.
My kind of day!
I am a frequent visitor to goodwill and other thrift shops myself and have shopped en femme. On occasion I will see another cd or tg in the store and always try to make an effort to compliment them as well. Thats how I met my friend Sally. I think its something we gurls should make an effort to do too
What a wonderful day and marvelous encounter you had! I haven’t tried shopping at the Goodwill yet but I might just give it a go to find my own style. So much more economical to shop there especially if you don’t have your own style yet. Thank you so much for posting this dear. You made my day to know there are people who are kind and not judgmental. TTFN💋👠

That's a great story! I had a similar experience recently when wearing a pair of capri pants. My wife of all people and the woman who cuts my hair mentioned how "cute" (the word they both used), my "outfit" was. I was so thrilled!
I have more capris to pull out of the closet. We'll have to see how those go over!
Marika; Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. Getting two complements and advice on how to solve a short skirt problem for two strangers is awesome. I hope you've had many more of those positive encounters.
