I have to admit, dance clothing is my kryptonite.

Leotards, tights, unitards... in all those lovely fabrics just feel and look so amazing!

Being a musician, I’ve played a lot in pit orchestras for ballet companies, and often to get to the orchestra pit, you have to walk by the dressing room area where all the costumes are hung up.  Seeing all the dancers in their outfits getting ready was always a treat.

I have a couple pair of those lightweight, shiny-ish rip-stop nylon warm-up pants (“trashbag” pants), a long-leg romper, and a pair of shorts of the same material.  I always take the pants when I run a race (I’m a runner), to change into after the run.  I used to wear a long sleeved leotard under the romper with a light jacket every morning to walk the dog around the neighborhood.

I have more dance clothes than anything else in my femme wardrobe, I guess... that and run/triathlon clothing.  A leo is great underdressing, and the fit of those outfits is fantastic.  That interest influenced my choice to get involved in triathlon. I love wearing a one piece lycra trisuit, and it’s what most people wear at races!  I’m hiding in plain sight.

I went through a major weight-loss several years ago (lost 100 lbs.!).  Honestly, one of the main inspirations was to get to a size that I could fit into legitimate dance clothes and one piece swimsuits.  That was the best thing I ever did in my life.

I should probably do a post about my weight loss someday.

Enough rambling... I need to go for a run, in my sleeveless one piece trisuit!

Hi Philma. You are so right, There are not many other pictures that scream femininity other than a watching a ballet. I do understand you wanting to emulate that femininity and wanting to express that to the out side world. That is what many woman would love to express  and they are fortunate to be able to express it it in a very feminine elegant manner. We are not much different than our cis sisters when it comes to expressing how we feel. That will have to remain a fantasy for me for sure. I truly hope you can see that feminine image you seek when wearing such a feminine costume. Luv Stephanie

I love leotards too. In fact even though I hadn't worn one yet my love of them almost outed me my sophomore year of high school.

I was in the spring musical all 4 years of high school. That year for the opening number everybody wore white vests with silver sequins on the closure. The guys wore shirts and pants, the girls wore leotards. One of then guys was fooling around and went to put on a leotard. He couldn't figure out which was the front and which was the back. So I told him. I was all set to keep talking away when it suddenly dawned on me. I had no idea how much the typical guy my age (I was almost 15) knew about leotards and when the other kids were going to ask me how I knew what I was talking about.

I too love the look of dance outfits, especially leotards and tights.  This brings me back to the days when I had the 80s aerobic style leotards and the spandex leggings.

Oddly enough, I only have 1 or 2 leotards in my collection, when faced with the purchase of a women's OPS or leotard, I tend to side with the swimsuit.

I too love the look and feel of leotards. I’m very impressed with your weight loss and look forward to you sharing how you did it. We can all use to loose a few but I’ve noticed that at 55 it doesn’t come off as easy as it used to.

I'm not really into dance outfits, then on the other hand maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.  Maybe I should give it a whirl. No pun intended.  Actually, pun is intended as I do love to twirl on the dance floor to lift my skirt or dress and give everyone an impromptu lingerie show.

That said, in addition to my usual collection of fem outerwear and lingerie, I have my 'special stuff' which is my cheer leader outfit as well as my French Maid outfit and also my "Sweet baby Linda"  baby girl ABDL clothing.

I too love leotards and often have just worn the top with jeans or a long skirt with my silicone breast and sports bra. Love the way it feels and the movement and jiggle of my chest.
