Dressing for a Drive: Gotta Get Out!

Living alone, i spend most of my days dressed at least somwhat en femme. Lately, I've been more comfortable with a little makeup, and sometimes a wig. Yesterday was one of those days.

I started the day in a full length whispy summer dress over a long sleeve white t-shirt. When it was time to walk down the road, I changed in to bright blue patterned yoga pants and a simple t-shirt that was almost tunic length. I put a ball cap on to shade the makeup a bit, and my nail polish was shining for all to see, even when I stopped to talk to a neighbor.

When I returned to the house, I changed the t-shirt for a t-shirt dress/tunic with a cami and breast forms. I suddenly got a wild urge for Skyline (3-ways) fix, and decided I would go just like this. Standing in front of the mirror, the breast forms were small enough that they were somewhat hidden when I leaned my shoulders forward.

When I placed my order at the drive through, I looked down and realized that the breast forms were dramatically accentuated by the seat belt crossing at the sternum. I had time to remove the forms, but decided to wear them proudly. The transaction was completed without incident, and I thought I detected a smile from the young lady handling my order. I like to think of those smiles as smiles of delight, not derision.

After dinner and a Zoom meeting with a committee, I had another strong urge to dress up and go for a drive. The knee-length summer spaghetti strap dress in black cotton was a perfect match for a kimono jacket in black lace and printed lace pattern. Touching up the makeup, and the addition of a nice head of hair, and I was feeling like a million dollars.

I walked out the door with purse on my shoulder to the car, not even looking to see if neighbors were watching. Let them see me! Off I drove for a comfortable journey, sunroof open for a gentle cool breeze. I wanted to stop and walk around or just stand next to the car, but it seemed like any parking lot would be vulnerable. Then I was in the city and saw a row of cars parked in front of brownstone apartments, so I found a spot and nervously got out to feel the gentle evening breeze on my legs and arms and neck. I jumped back in the car when a truck drove by, then re-emerged to walk around the car. Half way around, I heard a door open on the brownstone, but no one came out. I tried not to look suspicious, bent down to look at my fender, then got back in the car to drive off.

I continued on a meandering path home with the sunroof open and the interior light on, luxuriating in the gender euphoria that engulfed me to my very core. Counting my blessings to be able to experience my true self in whatever situation that is available.
