My wife is loosening up a little on what she allows me to wear. She has bought me some women's short shorts, which I love, and is ok with me wearing them whenever I want. She has also given me the ok to wear dresses and go out in public. As long as she's not around and it's in an area where I'm not likely to run in to anyone we know.  So far, all I have are shorts. No dresses, shirts, shoes or accessories.

I needed some time away so I headed up to our lake house, bringing my new shorts with me. I went through her tops and found one I liked, put it on with the shorts and went for a walk on the shore. Didn't run in to anyone, but I was still nervous.

After my walk, I remembered I wanted to get a lottery ticket so I drove to the market. I sat in the car for a few minutes getting up my nerve. Finally I just said screw it, got out of the car and walked in. The tickets come from a machine so I just walked through the store like it was nothing, bought my tickets and left. The whole time my heart was pounding, but I survived. Not sure if anyone even noticed what I was wearing.

I know it's not much, and it was just short shorts and a top, but it's a big first step for me. I'll be getting some dresses soon so this will help me get my nerve up for that.

Hi Stephanie,

The first small step leads to the next until, one day, you are at the top of the stairs. 🙂

Congratulations!

There is no stopping you now.

Hugs,

Aurora Eden

Stephanie, that's a great first step! I love short shorts too. Short women's running shorts were really my first feminine dressing out in public.

P.S. Don't forget about us if you win the lottery! 🙂

My shorts are Sonoma's from Kohl's. I have 2 different styles but my favorites are the 5" inseam ones. I'd like to go shorter but my SO says no, at least not around her.

I’m happy for you Stephanie. You survived. And I’ll bet looking back, you wish someone would have at least given you a little look. It hasn’t been that long ago when I took my first steps, that I can’t remember the rush. I love hearing about others’ courageous activities.

Yes, I said courage. You displayed a tremendous amount and I’m proud. What might seem like a literal “walk in the park” for some is a “running of the gauntlet” for others.

Way to go! 🥰

Much love,
Raquel

So brave. I couldn't do that even if I were lucky enough to have a wife as supportive as yours.

Good for you!
