I had a blast at my first time dressed out. It was a drag show in Casper, burlesque, lots of skin and sexy bodies. I wore a sparkly pants / dress / sweater outfit my wife helped me pick out, sparkly silver heels, and got compliments on my makeup (which I did myself). It was lovely and freeing to be able to feel pretty, and safe, at a public event. I’m looking forward to other opportunities to let Janey out of her shell.
The HEART of the matter, the freedom to feel pretty, ...savor it !! 
@timeajane Wow, what a great time you had! Congratulations, and I know this is just the beginning for Janey to be set free. Also, kudos on your makeup, I know those compliments made you feel great.
@timeajane It's wonderful that you had so much support on your first time out. I'm sure that this helped make it such a positive experience. It took me a long time to work up to something like this.

@timeajane congratulations there is nothing like that first time out. The excitement the nervousness but once your out there is a sense of being the woman you feel like inside. I love every time I get the opportunities to do so congrats. I’d love if you could share with me your experience on telling your wife about your dressing as you’ll see by my profile I’m struggling with the courage to do so and any insight would be most helpful.

@ginger1968 long story short, when we moved to Wyoming in ‘19 I had an epiphany—I decided not to bring any negative energy to my space, my town, my state; in doing so, I began opening up to the girl in me, first as kind of a hippy free spirit, and then as an appreciation for my wife’s fashion. She knew I enjoyed shopping with her, helping her pick out shoes in particular, so at Christmas I dropped the idea that I’d enjoy some women’s things. Next thing I know, she’s taking me on a shopping spree, Victoria’s secret, Ross, Maurices, a makeup palette, etc. I realize that there’s something particularly special about her, that she recognized what I needed to be free and happy and didn’t question it (much…). It’s been an awesome journey!

@ginger1968 I should add that there was a point where she worried that I might swing too far for her, transitioning or seeking out men. She likes men, man parts, and needs that for herself. Some simple assurances were helpful, and she knows that I remain girl crazy even if I’m girlie now myself.

Congratulations on your first time out, and going to a drag show!!!!! That is the exact same way I had my first time out! It was fantastic! I spoke to one of the performers, telling them it was my first time out dressed. Well, after their first number, they come get me from my seat, bring me out center stage and introduce me to the whole crowd! I suddenly became the “it” girl for the rest of the evening with everyone wanting to meet me! Now, that is like a second home to me and to top it all off I’ve started performing in drag as well, having so much fun. Enjoy your time out, introduce yourself to people and don’t forget to meet the Kings and Queens who perform there, you’ll be surprised at how many new friends you will have very soon!

Am I the only one to notice this was in Casper, WY (I assume)? Not where I would expect such open acceptance but glad for you and the community.
@jjandme Casper is indeed not where you’d expect this to happen, but Casper is a curious place—strong arts scene and pride accepting culture. For me, it felt safer because it was not my home space (I am too recognizable here and my job is one where openly displaying my girl might quickly become problematic)
