I'll never forget the first time I put on a wig. It was a couple years ago and was the last accessory to complete my look. I had on my dress, heels and makeup, then I put on the wig and wow, I looked in the mirror and saw a girl smiling at me. The smile wasn't there a second ago, but seemed natural when dressed like that. Who can frown or feel depressed when you look beautiful? lol
Tammy, I agree. The wig is the final touch, at least in my experience.
I miss my wig. It was tossed during a purge a few years back. My wife didn't know I had a wig so caring for it and using it was always challenging. I'm considering another once the cash is available. The main problem is the darn heat. Does anyone have experience keeping cool, say at the beach, wearing a wig? I have resigned myself to wearing hats to hide my grays and smooth spot.

My first wig was meh. Not expensive, not great, But I remember the first time that I spend decent money and saw myself as a redhead with long wavy hair. Then I bought ?6 ?7 more nice wigs.
When I got my first makeover, the woman gave me a wig to wear. But my hair was already long, even though it is very fine. But my forehead is not feminine looking. So instead of a wig she gave me clip-on bangs. The color was very close to my own hair color.
I will wear a wig sometimes, other times I just wear the bangs. I bought another set of bangs a few years ago.
I find that the wig, or even just the bangs, does more to change my face than all of the makeup. I see how changing your hair can change your face, and understand why women like to try different hair styles.
Long ago I bought a wig at a costume store. I wanted one and and made a rushed decision. After a home makeover, my wife and I decided that we didn't like it. It went out during a purge. I have been looking online at wigs. Will take my time and hopefully make a good decision!
I am so looking forward to my first real wig. I will certainly spend a lot of time choosing when I finally go. The one critical piece of wardrobe I've always been missing. Costume wigs don't count.
I wholeheartedly agree; the wig is like the icing on the cake and ties everything together.
A wig was one of the last components for my dressing. When I did finally buy a wig, it was a costume wig that was around $20. At that time, it served its purpose but one look and you knew it was a cheap costume wig.
I can't remember what happened to it, I think I may have turfed it out a long time ago.
I then bought a few more costume wigs, but this time it had a better feel and quality to it, and cost me only $15. It was only one colour though, no highlights. From afar it would look real, but up close you can tell it was a wig.
I am now buying more realistic and quality wigs. It does cost more but the fibres are incredibly soft, and the way it is cut and style is way more realistic.
