It has been from struggling to happiness for me.First time I knew that I loved feminine clothing was age 12.It was a red dress an aunt of mine had out, loved after touching it and never got to try it on.I was at her place, dad was at work.My dad did not want me to try anything feminine on.The next 22 years after that,I struggled at times. Finally 10 years ago at age 34,knew it had to come out and put a toll on my marriage with my wife.Put a toll with my relationship with my dad too.Unfortunately my dad passed before I came out.Wife and I did work things out and the marriage counselor we seen saw I was bottling somthing up holding in this secret.I knew she was right. Finally 2 days after this, finally came out to my wife I liked feminine clothing and she surprised me well.Said she has always wanted to see me dressed as female. It was a great win/win for both of us.I had a makeover and loved the results.Said I was not going to dress as male anymore.Wife loved the results and glad I was staying as Adrianna telling her this.Sees me much happier to this day

What an amazing story, Adrianna.

The circumstances of our youth impact us for the rest of our lives. Happy to hear that the anxiety of coming out to your wife was met with love and acceptance.

What a lovely story, Adrianna
It must have been such a weight off your shoulders when your wife reacted the way she did.

Another good story about the benefits of coming out. I think most of us would benefit from being honest with our spouse/SO. Sure, sometimes it doesn't work out, but to be honest, was the relationship strong and honest to begin with? Many of us have supportive and/or accepting spouses, while others end with a DADT situation, which to me is still much better than hiding. Some end up divorced,  but a suspect dressing was only the tip of the iceberg of a whole host of other issues.

I was not opening up about myself to her about it and bottling it up at first.

I’m so happy for you! Coming out is very scary in the sense you don’t know who is going to accept you or not. I was blessed in the fact that mostly everyone accepted me and welcomed me with open arms. I even made more memorable relationships with certain people I don’t know if I would have made otherwise. One of my closest friends is a girl I went to high school with. She’s always been there for me no matter what and I’ve been there for her.

Yeah I completely understand that. It’s good you had someone supportive to help you through it. My bff helped me tremendously especially on the days when I struggled. You always have to follow your heart and do what makes you happy and feel good inside. Even something as simple and small as getting your nails done helps
